@VatsRishap "Mera Neta Chor Hai" was clearly a call for a rejection of electoral choice (Nobody is worth voting for) and a yearning for a strongman who could set the system right by rising above it and not being constrained by it. And we got what we wanted, such is the tragedy.
@VatsRishap Why do you think the pre-SIR claims got no traction and post-SIR claims are making a wave? You are mistaking anger on the ground with some elite machinations. Rahul Gandhi is taking advantage of that anger, like Modi did with IAC. But the anger was real then and it is real now.
@VatsRishap The courts themselves appear to be captured. Do you think this anger has not bubbled up after years of unanswered door-knocking? When the bureaucracy, judiciary, law enforcement and mass media work against the constitutional spirit, where are the people to go but to the streets?
@VatsRishap Please don't tell me that Modi didn't ride the wave of anti-State "Mera Neta Chor Hai" narrative all the way to Delhi, promising to remake the system.
Yes, I was there. I supported Modi in 2014, I remember why I did it. I was disillusioned in 2015 when the cow lynchings started.
@VatsRishap So then who is causing more damage to the republic and its institutions? The protesters or the state? Towards whom should your criticism be more pointed?
@VatsRishap So, why are you surprised by the blowback? If the republic was convulsing already, I prefer it dies on the streets rather than in smoky rooms. At least, what happens on the streets is there for everyone to see. Why should disenfranchisement not lead to rage? Why do YOU not rage?
@VatsRishap And I remember the excited murmurs of Congress-mukt Bharat, 100 years of RSS rule and the neo-natal Hindu Rashtra.
Also, I want to ask you: Were all the Operation Lotuses we saw in so many states (including my own MP) not an example of regime change? Votes weren't the barometer?
@VatsRishap Right, and therefore children should be beaten, journalists should be detained, and Bajrang Dal goons should be given a free pass to enact their reign of terror. To preserve rule of law, you see, it's all for the law.
@VatsRishap I am sure I can cherry pick someone claiming revolution to be the goal then as you would do now while ignoring the real issues, but why even bother? Good day.
@GaRamBo007@Native_champion@aishe_ghosh It's not a qualification for being PM, but it is a necessary (but not sufficient) condition for not being considered a coward.
@Native_champion@aishe_ghosh All dictators are cowards and insecure, that's why they resort to brutality and suppression. Why do you think Modi has never done a press conference? Because he is a coward.
@LethalVoi@93KIWIXCALAMITY@nainparii > every sector of india has flaws
Some of us want to fix those flaws because we know that they will hurt everyone sooner or later in the long term, and others are okay to worsen those flaws as long as it serves their interests in the short term.
