⛽️Diesel! A fueled-up @EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029; @MonomoySharks) is building a physical profile to match her premium-grade on-court skill set.
In her first varsity season, Emma established Swish program records for an 8th Grader in all official statistical categories — namely, points (61), three-pointers (8), and free-throw percentage (66% (19-29)). The two-time All-Swish point guard played in 17 contests and earned her first career start in the regular season finale at Barnstable. A top-of-the-program Spring would follow where Emma pushed her game and body to new levels in training while emerging as a reliable — and oftentimes explosive — scorer on the regional tournament circuit. She continues to develop as a leader and has embraced her role as a program representative.
Emma has been performing strength & conditioning workouts on Monday evenings this Summer with an emphasis on power production. Her format includes violent ball-slams, heavy deadlifts, single-leg squats, overhead pressing, farmer’s carries, and nasty conditioning pieces on the bike. Some newfound biceps have even been on display during recent summer league games! The result has been an even more confident player capable of withstanding physicality and fully expressing her skills. The needle is pointing towards “full” entering her freshman season. 💙🧡💪
Game to 25 — must win by two points. Ended in a 28-26 overtime thriller in what was likely our best scrimmage of the Spring. With awards to be presented next week, a pair of longtime Swish loyalists were leading their respective teams and building compelling cases. @NoraRodes (Class of 2028; @JPII_Athletics) was maniacally racing the court for layups, bankers, floaters, and three-pointers — appearing at time to simply be in her own category of conditioning level out on the court. And three-time All-Swish small forward @AvaPina04 (Class of 2028; @MonomoySharks) appears to be hitting her fullest stride and she blended free-throws, layups, and three-pointers into her overall scoring package. It will be difficult to differentiate between so many worthy athletes, but the determinations will have to be made. Our final week arrives in just a few days highlighted by Monday’s End-of-Spring Fitness Testing and Thursday’s End-of -Spring Scrimmage. Excited to see which players rise to the occasion! 💙🧡
You can’t measure heart. A undermanned, undersized, ragtag training unit somehow found itself in the Finals with an 2-0 record and tied 16-16 at halftime with a super-powered Team Providence entry in the Rhode Island.
On Sunday, six players from our “Upstarts” training group banded together to form a competition team in the Rhode Island Breakers’ “Commotion by the Ocean” event. The team exploded for 58 points in its opening matchup with the Rhode Island Breakers and then followed it up with a 37-point performance against Team White Mamba. A berth in the Finals against Team Providence seemed like it would be too tough of test with their wickedly effective defensive trapping and pressure. However, the players displayed extraordinary resilience — overcoming several bouts of tears and emotional/physical frustration — to produce one of the most inspirational performances in program history.
Several parents from the opposing team approached me after the game to comment on just how much toughness our girls displayed throughout the event and game. They represented the program in a truly exemplary manner. A bonding experience for all of us that were involved and we can’t wait to enter our next event together in the coming weeks and months! 💙🧡
Quite possibly our best strength & conditioning session of the Spring and it came at a great time with End-of-Spring Fitness Testing taking place next week. Soon-to-be-named All-Swish forward Elyse Sharpe (Class of 2027; Falmouth Academy) showed zero signs of fatigue on the heels of a four-game Championship weekend. The 6-foot forward reached a new level on overhead pressing and produced the single most powerful interval on the rowing segment as she enters the final nine days of Spring as a legitimate candidate to earn her first career Most Valuable Player Award. Limping to the finish will not be tolerated. We’re expecting to see the cream rise to the top in the coming days with some spectacular performances in the gym and on the court! 💙🧡💪
Family trips, track & field, volunteer hours, concussions, school trips, banquets, lacrosse, stomach bugs, concerts, softball, work conflicts, etc. The logistical hurdles this time of year feel overwhelming at times, but the group is finding a way to progress. Three-time All-Swish small forward @AvaPina04 (Class of 2028; @MonomoySharks) is in the midst of a late-spring push as she builds a compelling performance, participation, leadership, and program representation profile. And Emmy Gilmore (Class of 2030; @Swich_Athletics) produced a standout on-court performance flashing a beautiful up-and-under move while also burying a pair of three-pointers. Will this group limp to the finish line or does it have a final sprint left in it? 💙🧡💪
😤All the smoke! Ten-time All-Swish shooting guard @jready2025 (Freshman; Westfield State University) returns to headline this Summer’s premier training group. The former four-time Swish Most Valuable Player returns following a freshman season wherein she earned rotational minutes at Regis College while scoring 30 points and burying 7 three-pointers before her season was cut short due to knee injury. “Joey Buckets” will be focused this Summer on regaining her elite levels of strength & conditioning while reintroducing live play. She will obviously compete on the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. Very excited to watch Jojo navigate the next chapter of her career while impacting the next generation of Swish players. 💙🧡💨

We will invite any and all local programs and organizations to scrimmage.

😤All the smoke! Five-time All-Swish shooting guard @Jstreitmatter3 (Sophomore; @Mitchell_WBB) returns to headline this Summer’s premier training group. The former three-time Swish Most Valuable Player returns following a standout sophomore season at the college level. The “Blonde Bomber” scored a team-high 13.2 points per game — the ninth leading scorer in the entire Great Northeast Athletic Conference — while burying 39 three-pointers and shooting 63.3% (31-49) from the free-throw line. Jordyn’s summer format will be focused on strength & conditioning and speed & agility while expanding her overall scoring package — she will obviously start on the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. Very excited to watch Jordyn develop her own game while impacting the next generation of Swish players. 💙🧡💨

A pair of blonde-haired Swish megastars joined forces for the first time and produced an explosive and dominant performance. Five-time All-Swish shooting guard @Jstreitmatter3 (Sophomore; @Mitchell_WBB) made her return and immediately boosted the on-court product with a mix of majestic three-pointers and drives to the basket. Her synergy with reigning Swish Most Valuable Player @EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029; @MonomoySharks) was incredible — dribble hand-offs, post feeds, and hit-ahead passes from the college star to the high school freshman prompted an onslaught of baskets from all areas on the court. A special moment for the program and foreshadowing of what the next three months could be. Our competition teams will head to the Zero Gravity “Stars & Stripes” event this Sunday looking to find a new level. 💙🧡
😤All the smoke! Excited to welcome Meredith Larsen (Class of 2029; @UrsulineAcademy) to compete amongst this Summer’s premier training group. Meredith averaged over 6 points per game as a freshman combination guard for a state-tournament-bound Ursuline Academy (Dedham) team in MIAA Division 3. She plays her club basketball with the highly reputable Take Charge Athletics program and will add length, skill, and competitiveness to a stacked Swish backcourt across our various training segments this Summer. Already expressing a desire to participate in Advanced Perimeter Skills sessions on Tuesday evenings, Meredith is also a candidate to compete with the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. There’s no doubt that Meredith will add another exciting variable to our overall equation this Summer! 💙🧡💨

😤All the smoke! There will be a scholarship-level interior presence as 6-foot-2 center Ellen Baranowski (Class of 2028; @NorwoodBball) returns to compete amongst this Summer’s premier training group. Ellen returns heavily decorated — the Most Valuable Player of the Tri-Valley League averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game to help lead her powerful Norwood team to a 19-4 record and league championship while being named a Boston Herald All-Scholastic. Ellen plays her club basketball with our good friends at the @BehnHurricanes program. Her goal is to really increase her speed & agility this Summer and she’ll once again be an energetic presence out on the turf on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Ellen is a candidate to compete with the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. There’s no doubt that Ellen will add an exciting variable to our overall equation this Summer! 💙🧡💨

Only two more weeks of “training” in the gym remain before End-of-Spring fitness testing in Week 12. Several of the most committed athletes are displaying significant progress — most notably Alice Regan (Class of 2031; @Dolphinathletic). The 7th Grader hasn’t missed a session and continues to climb the ladder with her movements each and every week yielding improved strength, power, and conditioning levels. She also scored a pair of baskets in last weekend’s tournament game against an 11th Grade Worcester Hive team. The athletes have earned the opportunity to lift heavier these final few weeks as they’ve acclimated their bodies and spent time developing proper form and mechanics. Excited to see which athletes truly seize the opportunity and embrace this critical element of our overall development program. 💙🧡💪
😤All the smoke! Three-time All-Swish small forward @AvaPina04 (Class of 2028; @MonomoySharks) returns to headline this Summer’s premier training group. After navigating some injury issues earlier in the Spring and rewiring some hesitant patterns developed during the past season, Ava has emerged as a key offensive weapon for the program’s top competition team and one of the strongest and fittest overall athletes in the entire program. Ava will assume an aggressive summer format focused on increasing speed & agility and ensuring that she’s fit and sharp for her school team’s summer league games. She will also compete with the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. Ava is on track to play an all-star level of basketball in the coming years! 💙🧡💨

Down . . . but not out! One of the most inspirational performances in program history helped the Swish “Navy” Competition Team defeat a high-powered Worcester Hive team — avenging a blowout loss to the same program earlier the day.
On Saturday afternoon, 6-foot forward Elyse Sharpe (Class of 2027; Falmouth Academy) scored a team-high 24 points to spearhead an improbable 51-48 victory. The soon-to-be-named All-Swish forward displayed her recruitment-level inside-outside profile by amassing 14 rebounds and burying 4 three-pointers. 13-year-old Swish point guard @AvaShaw1119 (Class of 2030; @Swich_Athletics) produced another masterful performance as the one-woman press-break repeatedly broke through pressure for a series of baskets on the other end of the court. The program received an awesome “step-up” performance from Emmy Gilmore (Class of 2030; @Swich_Athletics) as the 8th Grader suddenly found herself playing major crunch-time minutes down the stretch against high level competition. The entire team literally raises its collective level of play throughout the afternoon — having sustained an ugly 38-12 loss to the same Worcester Hive program just a few hours earlier.
Placement in top brackets against top competition is the new normal for the “Navy” Competition Team. We must continue to acclimate to a new level of speed, quickness, and physicality. An exciting week of training awaits before entrance into the oldest age division of this-coming Sunday’s Zero Gravity “Stars and Stripes” Event. Level up! 💙🧡
😤All the smoke! Reigning Swish Most Valuable Player @EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029; @MonomoySharks) returns to headline this Summer’s premier training group. Emma is a virtual lock to earn her fifth consecutive All-Swish selection this Spring and is a top contender for her second consecutive Most Valuable Player Award. She has emerged as the most lethal offensive weapon for the program’s top competition team by averaging double-figures across all tournament and scrimmage opportunities — continued growth in ball-handling, finishing, shooting, fitness, and IQ. A heavy competitive workload will give way to a summer format more focused on strength & conditioning and speed & agility while obviously also competing with the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. A goal without a plan is just a wish — Emma will most definitely have the detailed plan to make her lofty goals a reality. 💙🧡💨

The momentum continued in tonight’s scrimmage with Team Sims. 6-foot forward Elyse Sharpe (Class of 2027; Falmouth Academy) scored a team-high 22 points while burying 4 three-pointers and shooting 4-5 from the free-throw line. Reigning Swish Most Valuable Player @EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029; @MonomoySharks) added 20 points while burying a pair of three-pointers, shooting a perfect 2-2 from the free-throw line, and shouldering primary ball-handling responsibilities. Meghan Conlon (Class of 2027; Sturgis East) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12 points and relentless activity on the glass. Outstanding effort by the players to push through some fatigue after performing a training session prior to the scrimmage. A shorthanded — but still dangerous — team will turn its attention to Saturday’s Behn Hurricane’s “World Cup” event. Incredible opportunity to step up! 💙🧡
😤All the smoke! Stella Greer (Class of 2029; Sturgis West) returns to compete amongst this Summer’s premier training group. Stella has emerged as a key contributor and long-range shooting threat for the “Orange” competition team this Spring — also displaying a willingness to compete on the boards and for loose-balls. She produced an impressive showing during mid-term fitness testing and will use the summer months to target improvements in the speed & agility realm. Stella is a leading contender for this Spring’s Most Improved Player Award and further development this Summer will move her closer to her goal of earning a starting spot on her school team next season! 💙🧡💨

😤All the smoke! All-Swish shooting guard @NoraRodes (Class of 2028; @JPII_Athletics) returns to compete amongst this Summer’s premier training group. Nora has emerged as a key rotational cog on the program’s top competition team this Spring with her outside shooting prowess and maniacal ability to repeatedly race up and down the court. She places in the upper echelon of all fitness-related tests and loves to add speed & agility to her weekly format during the Summer months. Nora is also likely to compete with the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. A goal of earning a starting spot at the varsity level during her upcoming junior season feels very much within reach! 💙🧡💨

No sleep? No leading scorer? No space in the corners of the court between the three-point line and the sideline? No problem! The Swish “Navy” Competition Team navigated some unusual circumstances to run its winning streak to 10 consecutive games during the Zero Gravity “Mother’s Day Classic” — and now the program braces for its most formidable challenges of the Spring.
On Saturday morning, the indestructible Audrey Anderson (Class of 2029; @Swich_Athletics) provided another impactful two-way effort across the two-game slate. The freshman guard continues to be the defensive tone-setter with her full-court pressure and desire to always guard the opposing team’s toughest scoring threat. In the first game, 13-year-old Swish monster-guard @StellaRose2031 (Class of 2031; @MonomoySharks) delivered a team-high 15 points with 4 three-pointers to earn Zero Gravity’s “Player of the Game” distinction. And in the second game, 6-foot forward Elyse Sharpe (Class of 2028; Falmouth Academy) produced a team-high 15 points along with 9 rebounds and a blocked shot. Scoring from Stella and Elyse was of particular importance in this event as an 8:00 start contributed to some sloppy play along with an oddly-shaped court that led to nine separate instances where our players simply stepped out of bounds. Yet the program was grateful for the opportunity to compete against reputable organizations in the Behn Hurricanes and Plymouth United.
The stakes rise this-coming week as we welcome a powerful Team Sims unit for an exhibition game on Thursday followed by two games on Saturday afternoon against the Worcester Sting during the Behn Hurricane’s World Cup event. The “Navy” Competition Team has earned placement in the tournament’s top varsity division and will need to raise its collective level of play in order to maintain the current winning steak. Always up for the challenge! 💙🧡
😤All the smoke! A virtual lock for her first career All-Swish selection and a contender for this Spring’s Most Valuable Player Award — 6-foot forward Elyse Sharpe (Class of 2027; Falmouth Academy) returns to headline this Summer’s premier training group. Elyse has emerged as one of the program’s most impactful performers this Spring as an unprecedented two-way threat for the top competition team. She leads the program in rebounding and blocked shots while averaging double-figures and spacing the floor with her knockdown shooting ability. Elyse will add speed & agility to her weekly format by competing out on the turf this Summer while also competing with the program’s top team during any scrimmage opportunities with local programs. A goal of playing at the college level is very much within reach if Elyse continues along her present track. 💙🧡💨

The final 30 days of Spring provide ample time to make additional games. However, the athletes must arrive with energy and focus and be truly willing to push themselves. @NoraRodes (Class of 2028; @JPII_Athletics) checked all those boxes tonight and may now be the program’s fittest overall athlete. She’s up to the 62-pound kettlebell for swing and the 70-pound dumbbell for goblet squats. Her rowing was so fast that it felt like she was in her own separate race. The program also received a boost with the addition of @Jstreitmatter3 (Sophomore; @Mitchell_WBB) as the five-time All-Swish shooting guard and former three-time Swish Most Valuable Player joins for the final five weeks of the Spring program. Never a dull day at Swish! 🧡💙💪
