@ChestneyNathan Maybe Continental Post Card Sleeves by https://t.co/aJB5kROTPo . They are W=4 3/8โ and L=6 1/4โ. Open on short side. Thin, not rigid but decent brand.
Classic Swiss Cars! Issued 9/3/2015. Pic-Pic, Martini, Tribelhorn & Fischer cars. The Swiss home market is too small for mass producing, but even today Swiss precision & tech. fills a niche market for luxury & exotic cars. Mostly in racing, retrofitting & prototyping. ๐
Lovely โIcarusโ sheet ! Overprinted airmail stamps issued 1935-1938 to meet lower surtax rates as flying became more common. โNever regret thy fall, O Icarus of the fearless flight, for the greatest tragedy of them all, is never to feel the burning light.โ - Oscar Wilde ๐ชถโ๏ธ
Thank you Lawrence @lbigfoot for this wonderful postal card!
Bundesfeier cards celebrated August 1st (Swiss National Day) and are the forerunners of the Swiss semipostal Pro Patria stamps. They were issued 1910-1937. 85 patriotic designs. Proceeds benefited various charities.๐จ๐ญ
@rekj1966 Very pricy, but in my opinion, it is the most beautiful of all classic stamps! Of course as a collector of Swiss stamps I may just be a tad biased ๐
Perfect summer day! Just chilling out with a nice little book. โBasler Dybliโ(Basle Dove) is THE iconic Swiss stamp. This 1995 book was written in celebration of the 150th anniv. of its issue. It gives a nice quick overview and includes some beautiful eye candy pictures. ๐จ๐ญ
@Schubertreise26 Without any doubt he is the greatest Swiss engraver! Hate to admit it, I have never visited โPaxmalโ, Iโll definitely have to remedy that. ๐ Ps: Your book is on my Christmas wish list and Iโm really looking forward to reading it. ๐
@RonRichardson1 Rayons are quite a complex, challenging area. Rayon II (without cross frame line) are fairly common. However plate flaws, retouches, color shadesโฆ 7 printing stones. Plus forgeries. Defintely recommend expertizing on the rarer varieties.
Cool looking stamp! โAmmoniteโ multi-layer embossed m/s issued 3/5/2015. Ammonites populated oceans between 400 mio. and 65 mio. years ago. They are closely related to the squid family. In Switzerland they are most commonly found in the fossil rich Jura region.
