You’re up +30% on an options play.
You don’t lock profit.
Next thing you know, you’re down -10%.
You hold out for a reversal.
No reversal. Down -30% now. It’s gotta reverse soon, right?
My first few hours in the market are always the strongest. When I overstay my visit, I end up:
1. Babysitting a position I could have locked on
2. Overtrading on mediocre setups
3. Giving back a portion of my gains
Worse than all of that? Burning MENTAL capital.
For every +500% gain you see on your feed, there are hundreds of contracts expiring worthless or being sold for a loss.
Stay focused. Most of social media is a highlight reel after all.
I remember when I had my first call with
RadioSilentplay
and he introduced the Rule of Three.
It was eye opening & everything made beautiful sense, *but* - mentally I struggled with choosing a PPM (PERSONAL profit margin) and staying loyal to it.
The fine folks at
TradingView
are letting me give away a 1-year Premium plan.
Here’s how to enter for a chance to win:
- follow

- like and RT this post
- comment with a picture of your dog
Third step is optional, but it can’t hurt ;)
Better to end the day up +$30 than down -$1200, but sometimes we trade ourselves into oblivion because the size of the green isn’t substantial enough.
Adopt a marathon mindset
Mid-workout epiphany.
Position size is like choosing weights. Too heavy, and your execution will suffer. You might even hurt yourself.
Master a weight (size) where you can execute with proper form, & then gradually apply the progressive overload principle for bigger gains.
Would you rather...?
[A] lock profits and see a play run higher
[B] not lock profits and see a play tank
After many experiences with the latter, I’ll choose Option A any day - and keep emotion out of it. Take a bite of the meat and move onward.
