Most people only know stereotypes about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
What if the things you’ve heard are either out of context or flat-out wrong?
Here are the biggest misconceptions — and the truth behind them. 🧵👇 #LDS#Restoration
Paul was an apostle
Paul thought the Parousia would happen in his lifetime
It did not happen
Paul was wrong.
Paul was still an apostle.
Anytime you hold a mortal to be infallible. You will be disappointed.
God works with fallible humans.
I've never understood the argument that "Mormons believe in their religion because of feelings, not facts and logic" for a few reasons.
First, because it's remarkably reductive to paint such profound spiritual experiences as nothing more than "warm fuzzies", especially when Latter-day Saint doctrine explicitly teaches that such experiences are conveyed to the heart AND to the mind, and second, because there is not one single religion on earth that can be proven through facts and logic.
All religion is fundamentally predicated on faith. I mean, can you point to historical lands and accounts of said miraculous events? Sure. Is that proof of the miraculous? No. For instance, we have no strong archeological proof of the existence of Moses or the Exodus narrative, so why do you believe it? Is it because you can point to Egypt on a map? I certainly hope not.
Not to mention, there's a tremendous double standard at play with what evidence is accepted and what is not. Are you telling me that you believe in the resurrection because of eyewitness testimony? That's fine if you do, but then why dismiss the eyewitness testimonies of the golden plates when we have more eyewitness testimonies regarding them?
Now, to be clear, I emphatically and 100% believe in the resurrection and ascension of Christ our Lord, but I do not believe in said resurrection because of scientifically proven archeological evidence or because of eyewitness testimony. I believe in it because of undeniable spiritual experiences that have confirmed to me that Jesus is the Christ, our Lord and God who reigns forever on the right hand of His Father. And I doubt there's anyone who would claim they believe in such a transcendent event simply through "logic" or "reason".
If religion could be definitively proven through secular means, one would think there'd be far fewer atheists.
In my view, a religious conviction built not on communion with the divine but rather on tradition or perceived philosophical necessities is a religious conviction built on sand.
The Church closest to the Bible is only The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Libertarian Party is the SOLE political entity that is steadfastly dedicated to eliminating the national debt, and reigning in the size and scope of government.
You may not agree with us on every part of our platform - but we have a track history of being proven correct, and unlike the other major parties, we do not have a history of betraying voters and selling out American citizens.
