Some of the most beautiful memories I cherish to this day are from the years I spent in my village with my grandmother. I can still remember the taste of milk & rice slow-cooked in a clay pot over a wooden chullah. No Michelin-star restaurant I have visited since has ever come close to that flavour. Perhaps because the secret ingredient was never the recipe, it was the love, the simplicity & the people around it. The greatest lessons I learnt from her could never be taught in an Ivy League classroom. She taught me culture, values, compassion, resilience & humanity, not through lectures, but through the way she lived her life. I remember sleeping under a sky full of stars on the barsati, running barefoot with my brothers near the nahar, & cooling watermelons & mangoes in the river before sharing them together. Life was uncomplicated, yet incredibly rich.
Looking back, I realise that moments create memories, emotions create meaning & relationships create legacy, not possessions. The stories she told, the wisdom she shared & the values she lived by have shaped me into the person I am today. No matter where life takes me, a part of me will always remain that little village girl at heart ❤️ #ThankYouGod #Blessed
