@philltee@AFL@RileyBev This…. Joke at the time and looks worse now. The fact contracts aren’t contracts is ridiculous. Looking forward to Merrett, Curnow and petracca all having their long term contracts renegotiated to more club favourable deals so they can move.
Lost by 10 goals but a bloke played his role by limiting someone but minimal overall impact on the game = AFL media must write their mandatory weekly tagging is great article.
Marcus Windhager has clamped a stack of stars again this year. Marcus Bontempelli in Rd 14. Kysaiah Pickett in Alice Springs. Plus Max Holmes, Connor Rozee & Finn Callaghan in 2025. Nick Daicos next? The numbers behind the impact 🔒 @AFLcomau

Congrats. Lost the game. A midfielder had 4 possessions. The star still had influence. Tagging is the worst and the sooner the media realises it and writes more creatively and thoughtfully about the game the better.
Not since Tony Liberatore won the Brownlow Medal has the role of the tagger been such a talking point.
Did Melbourne show a formula?

@TheWestSport Naaaahhhh….. this ain’t it. Regardless of the mission he isn’t capable of delivering anywhere near what is required to be successful. The club and Longmuir should all be accountable for the lack of success and stagnation.
@freodockers Interesting word to use when there is none at this club! No accountability at the selection table. No accountability by the CEO for failing to hit any of his stated targets. No accountability by the coach who has the same press conference on repeat every time we lose.

If this is his view then both Garlick and Longmuir need to be gone by Monday. There has been nothing phenomenal about this club in 30 years other than its mediocrity and acceptance of it. The fans deserve better and the people at the top keep talking and not delivering.
"There's no world that he won't coach round one next year?" "Absolutely not." 🟣⚓
Freo CEO Simon Garlick confirms coach Justin Longmuir will stay on into 2026, saying he's doing a "phenomenal job".

@FootyonNine@tommorris32@tommorris32 why do no clubs go over the soft cap? Is it a silent protest over the cap not increasing? Have all clubs agreed to this? They always complain about the soft cap but the simple solution is to go over it!
@ByElizaReilly@backchat__ It is 2025 isn’t it? The entire sporting world values scoring, high level skill and maximising assets and we want to play footy from a different era. Cool.
After starting the year 3-0, the Dockers have lost their last three games.
Where are things are going wrong for Justin Longmuir's men?

Can Fremantle's current game style get them to finals this year?
David King certainly doesn't think so 👇

"The decision to command $2 million for two ruckmen for the next seven years was one of the most bizarre list management decisions I've seen in a long time."
Despite re-signing Sean Darcy late last year, @kanecornes believes Freo needs to trade the ruckman.
