He was banished from his mosque because he eloped, and married a white woman, he refused an arranged marriage A year later his 2 brothers came to our door and told him if he ever came back to Manchester, they'd kill him, they meant it. We had to leave the country.

This broke him, he left Islam behind, love for my mum was stronger, a woman with 6 kids, he took all of us on. He was an amazing human but I knew the hurt from his community rejecting him and my mum was deep. He even changed his name to a Western name, to hide and to make life easier for us.

He eventually lost his faith because he couldn't reason why Islam would reject him to the point of possible murder.

He had a huge paradigm shift, eventually, his despondency turned to anger and rage at Islam, he felt he had been deceived all his life.

As we grew up, he used to sit and tell us over and over that the adherents of Islam would lie to us, to never trust them, he would tell us this over and over, especially my sisters, and he would plead with them to stay away from them.

Taqiyya is a big thing for the Muslim community, he would stress that children of Muslims are told straight of the bat that they are "different" to Westerners (better) and that he and his brothers and sisters had this rammed into them at all times, they were encouraged to always be nice to white people too, never to let the mask slip. We were well-schooled in Islam growing up, which proved useful when I argued with Islamic theists.

He also told us that in time, there would be enough Muslims in positions of power, and after a while, they would consolidate into a singularity (The Islam Party of Britain) he would stress over and over that "Islam doesn't do secularism, it doesn't want to be part of, or share anything outside Islam"

Almost everything he told us is happening, it's insane to see all his predictions come to fruition. He was a good man, ahead of his time. He loved all of us as his own.

We lost him in 1997.

Rauf, who served just 2.5 years of his 6-year sentence, dodged deportation by renouncing his Pakistani citizenship, claiming it would make him “stateless.”

The courts called his bluff, saying he could easily reclaim his citizenship—but guess what?

He just won’t.

His lawyers are also playing the “family life” card, arguing he can’t be deported because he has a wife and kids in the UK.

Meanwhile, locals are furious.
