The Future for Destiny* may be bright, but we'll have to wait. Check out our recent discussion video about the future plans and teases for Destiny 2 and beyond. If you enjoy it, a Like would be greatly appreciated!

I keep seeing “the Red War lawsuit” brought up since the Unvaulting announcement and it’s been annoying my last few remaining brain cells, so…
Bungie couldn’t submit the legacy build of Red War as an exhibit to the Court because Bungie “cannot feasibly provide the Court with the original Destiny 2 game as it existed in 2017”. Mind you, this was at very early stages of the lawsuit (which was obviously a sham to anyone with half a brain. The plaintiff Martineau waited 7 YEARS to file after he knew the campaign was no longer playable??) prior to discovery during a motion to dismiss from Bungie. Unvaulting Red War (what Bungie is doing now) would not have been an acceptable exhibit for the judge as “original work” since it’ll undergo TONS OF CHANGES to make it playable with D2’s updated underlying framework.
Also, Project Sunrise “modders” said that players would never be able truly play Red War but instead explore it a little, which also would not have been accepted by a judge in a copyright case at that stage.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes people owning RAM for their own PCs is a waste and instead should be saved for data centers
"It’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer."
@MacticsG1 It's insane the amount of people I see making that 1:1 comparison. It's impressive what the Sunrise devs are doing, I'd imagine things are a bit more layered and complex in a production environment.
Editing videos from tonight's conversation. This was a banger stream and as always our community held real honest and thoughtful conversations. Some folks are concerned about length of time, but as we discussed, a few weeks ago Destiny was dead. Let them cook.
@A_dmg04 This is the right move. I've personally been against the forced weekly cadence just for the sake of it. Yes, I love blogs, I want updates, but only when there's things to talk about. It's okay to have some silence every now and then. We don't need noise for the sake of noise.
I've talked about this so much over the years and have more ideas regarding the social aspects of Destiny in patrol spaces, but especially during this period of time, more opportunities for organic social experiences, whether it's fishing, Escalation Protocol, etc are important.
Fishing is not a part of the plan right now, but we're actively gathering feedback as players read the blog and process the news.
What's missing from the unvaulting list that feels pivotal vs nice to have?
We do have some limitations on how much we can do here, so we want to focus on the bits that mean the most to the community.
Hope the upcoming PvE mode can get some interest, but totally understandable.
All in all, it's more rooting for each game to succeed rather than rooting for failure out of spite.
We (Bungie) need to fix things, for sure. Community side, we hope folks can put down the pitchforks and get along.
@MayneForever I agree. I don't know their situation in terms of what all Sony is allowing. They greenlit the return of development on Destiny, but that's where Sony would need to step in and offer resources and support. Clearly we don't know if they are or not, but it'd be nice.
Solid first step. Really appreciate the transparency.
**TL;Dr:**
- Expectations on what content getting unvaulted.
- 12months expected timeline
- Where is Bungie in their process?
- Celebration of the return of Destiny coming Q1 2027?
- and more...

@MayneForever There's a balance to it also as I keep talking about. At a certain point they need to pivot to future things which they kinda discuss here. You don't want to spend years on old things. We want to capture the moment, repair, celebrate and look forward.
@Bungie Really solid first step. Laying out the expectations, and some evidence of the thought process behind these decisions. 12 months is just about what I feel most of us expected. Appreciate the transparency on what's returning and the intent. Look forward to continuing the convo.
As a Mass Effect fan I've been excited to check out Exodus and from everything I've seen so far, I'm impressed. Here's my breakdown and thoughts on the latest gameplay footage.
