#WorldEnvironmentDay#SydaniW2W#Waste2Wealth#SydaniGroup
π This WED, we showed up where it matters most - the classroom
On World Environment Day 2026, the Sydani W2W (Waste to Wealth) Initiative team visited Junior Secondary School, Piwoyi, Abuja, to have conversations about waste management & sustainability with the next generation.
The team discussed the 5Rs, the real consequences of poor waste management, and simple steps anyone can take to make a difference. The students showed up with curiosity and great questions, and honestly, they left us inspired too. π
We were pleased to engage key stakeholders from the Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria; NCCE; TRCN; NTI; FCT College of Education; and Brooks Insights. The evidence shows that the 4-in-1 pedagogical model strengthens pre-service teachers' capacity in Nigeria.
#SydaniGroup
Sydani Group convened the second and final sense-making session for the Pre-service Teacher Education Project (Pre-STEP). This initiative is jointly implemented with CEBAR Consultancy, in collaboration with the NCCE, and supported by GPE KIX, a joint endeavour with the IDRC.
Over 18 months, we tested our innovative 4-in-1 pedagogical model across two implementation levels:
Level 1: Testing pre-service teachers' knowledge uptake of the 4-in-1 model.
Level 2: Assessing pre-service teachers' application of the model in primary school classrooms.
At Sydani Group, we continue to work with government stakeholders, community leaders, and partners to build resilient, sustainable health systems that deliver lasting impact beyond project cycles.
#STRICAN#Nigerstate#RoutineImmunization
Last week, members of Sydani's STRICAN team met with Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen across Niger State to discuss ongoing efforts aimed at reducing morbidity and mortality from vaccine-preventable diseases through strengthened routine immunization systems.
In Niger State, collaborative efforts between the government and development partners continue to support expanded access to life-saving vaccines and improve coverage across communities.
The training strengthened capacity across the Integration and Economics components, covering digital data collection, role-plays, pilot testing, and field readiness.
Private midwife-led enterprises are vital to expanding access to maternal and reproductive healthcare, especially in underserved communities.
Sydani Group recently trained 8 research assistants in Uganda for the Midwife-Led Enterprises Assessment.
At Sydani Group, we're committed to strengthening cross-border collaboration, supporting integrated disease surveillance systems, and working with partners to build more resilient public health systems across border communities.
#STRICAAN#SydaniGroup#DiseaseSurveillance
The STRICAAN team convened a Cross-Border Disease Surveillance Synchronization Meeting on April 20, 2026. The meeting brought together stakeholders from Nigeria and Cameroon, including surveillance officers, border agencies, WHO, and representatives of the NCDC.
Given the high level of movement across the Nigerian-Cameroonian border, strengthening disease surveillance coordination is critical to detecting potential outbreaks early, reporting them quickly, and responding jointly.
