New Yorker working towards a future in which where one lives does not determine one’s health + wealth. Philanthropy @trinitychrchnyc, Brooklyn Co-Chair @nywfp.
The first-ever Muslim @NYCMayor, @ZohranKMamdani, celebrating Eid al-Adha with us in Parkchester.
Zohran relates the story of sacrifice that Eid al-Adha is centered on back to solidarity and affordability.
Final day for @Wesleyan_U@wes_alumni to cast your ballot for trustee. I’d like to bring my experience from urban planning, community organizing, and the nonprofit sector to the board, and I’d be honored to have your vote.
Please vote by 5 PM: https://t.co/NjZjHv83I1
What’s the deal with the plan to Close Rikers now that there’s a receptive administration in office?

For years, New Yorkers have been priced out of their own neighborhoods as outside investors have profited.
With @CMSandyNurse's COPA legislation, when many apartment buildings go up for sale, tenants and nonprofits would have a chance to buy the building before investors.
I'm proud to support COPA, grateful for Councilmember Nurse's partnership, and looking forward working with City Council to pass this important bill.
Friends, there’s just one week left. Please make sure any Wesleyan alums you know vote for me for the Board of Trustees this week!
The Wesleyan community is so well-poised to meet this moment in our civil society. Let’s build towards that: https://t.co/NjZjHv83I1
Lower Manhattan's pedestrian volumes are some of the highest in the city, but the streets are still designed almost exclusively for cars, sidewalks included... This study shows how critical it is to transform these streets into people-first public spaces! https://t.co/SfBYLprVZT
I’m running — for the Board of Trustees at @Wesleyan_U. If you’re a @Wes_Alumni, check your inbox for an emailed ballot. I humbly request your vote.
Wesleyan was a transformative experience for me. I feel an obligation to pay it forward. Here’s why: https://t.co/7LCvW6Bq6N
Eid Mubarak to all of our siblings across New York's 14th.
We were honored to spend this holy day at mosques around the Bronx and Queens this morning speaking with our neighbors and collecting signatures to get @AOC back on the ballot.
BREAKING: In response to the brutal NYPD shooting of their son and brother, 22-year-old Jabez Chakraborty on Monday, January 26th, the Chakraborty family issued the following statement:
We are shocked and outraged by the NYPD’s treatment of our son and brother, Jabez Chakraborty, and our family. We called for help. We called 911 for an ambulance to provide medical attention for our son, who was in emotional distress. We did not call the police. Instead of medical responders, the NYPD arrived and shot our son multiple times right in front of us. As our son was being shot, we were terrified that what happened to Win Rozario was going to happen to Jabez.
New: The Working Families Party is endorsing Brian Romero for a hotly-contested State Assembly seat in Queens, putting the progressive group at odds with the Democratic Socialists of America and Mayor Mamdani, who are backing another candidate in the race.

A Working Families guarantee means immigrants rights and it means housing, healthcare and childcare New Yorkers can actually afford.
Brooklyn electeds like @JabariBrisport + @JuliaCarmel__ are getting it done. Glad to have them with us at @NYWFP’s Statewide Gathering yesterday!
