Higher Education Commission, Pakistan and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate HEC’s degree verification system with PSEB’s upcoming National Digital Workforce Platform.
The collaboration will enable secure digital verification of academic credentials, establish Pakistan’s first national verified digital talent repository, and strengthen academia-industry linkages to enhance graduate employability.
The initiative marks a significant step towards building a trusted, data-driven digital ecosystem that supports skills development, talent mobility, and Pakistan’s digital transformation.
Chaired the 48th Meeting of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Commission, during which the Commission approved the recommendations of the Finance & Planning Committee on HEC’s Budget Estimates for FY 2026–27.
The Commission approved the Federal Recurring Grant for public sector universities, budgetary allocations for the HEC Secretariat, and the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) Development Grant. The meeting also approved key financial and administrative measures aimed at strengthening institutional governance, enhancing financial sustainability, and supporting the effective implementation of HEC’s strategic priorities.
Reaffirming its commitment to the sustainable development of Pakistan’s higher education sector, the Commission emphasized prudent financial management, transparent resource allocation, and continued public investment to strengthen teaching, research, innovation, institutional capacity, and human capital development across the country’s higher education institutions.
