One of the core capabilities of @vitruveochain is to have standards-based metadata for all artworks.
Metadata usually has locations in various contexts, but two important ones are:
- Place of origin of the Creator
- Location of the artwork
It's easy enough to give a generic city or country name. But so much context is lost in the process.
What if there was a way to give every location on Earth a unique address?
Sure, that's called Latitude and Longitude. The problem with LatLng is that they are not very human-friendly (just like crypto addresses). Is there a better way?
Yes there is, and it's called PlusCodes.
PlusCodes are like street addresses for people or places that don’t have one using simple letters and numbers. They are particularly useful for people in less developed areas which may not have a formalized address system.
My vision for Vitruveo blockchain is to uplift every creator in the world, no matter if they are in an urban area or an indigenous artist in the Amazon rainforest.
Using PlusCodes for locations makes this possible.
