Random surpise: When you put in a cheeky bid and win a bargain, collection-only used laptop on ebay and they don't give you their name but a door number and postcode to buildings that are next to an active RAF airfield where Apache helicopters squadrons are based.
@hieireen Sadly I have encountered too many men (not man-childs who haven't grown up) who have toxic traits and do "play games" with their relationships, primarily for their selfish, narcissistic wants in an unequal partnership
Too many innocent lives have been lost and devastated before the political dial has moved nominally in this welcome humanitarian direction.

Formal Sartorial Wisdom 101: The only two knots a boy/man should ever use for their neckties (as everything else is unsymmetrically awful or a gauche overkill)
1) A Full Windsor Knot
2) A St. Andrew Knot
Everything else is "(K)not right"
Based on how poor the quality of most of the submissions for School Parent Governor are that I've just read for a school (lacking key info, short of actual school engagement, therefore unempathetic to the audience), I'm shocked that their kids managed to pass the entrance exams
This claim is totally false. It's misinformation that will only increase fear and concern in Jewish communities.

@veiledmama We also say "full stop", not "period", [] are usually not called braces but square brackets. I learnt the word "pilcrow" from watching this though
Deeply saddened by last night’s incidents at Spital Mosque in Aberdeen, paint thrown at the door and a rock through the window.
Despite this hate, local neighbours came together to clean up, showing unity and solidarity. This is the true spirit of community, especially during Ramadan.
It is disheartening that mosques must increasingly strengthen security amid rising Islamophobia and real risks to worshippers.
My warmest congratulations to Sir Mufti Abdul Hamid Patel on his appointment as the interim chair of Ofsted,
As the founder of Star Academies, he has been a driving force for more than a decade in raising educational attainment across the country,
Unsurprisingly, his appointment has been met with deeply Islamophobic and vile racist attacks.
They can’t quite come to terms with a Muslim being appointed.
Maybe they need to learn some of the STAR Academy values …

@lifeisasentence I know I have done it too with variations on names from languages I am not so familiar with including European colleagues where the name spelt identically is pronounced differently in the UK than in their country
@lifeisasentence Colleagues at most places I've worked have done that all the time with offshore colleagues & vendor staff names. It's not really helped when people sharing the same culture also mispronounce it and when the person whose name is being mangled doesn't correct it too.
