Honoured & excited to start a new position as a Lecturer (tenured faculty) in Hydrogeology at Wageningen University & Research @HydrologyWur @WUR (#1 ranked Ag. University)
Words can't describe how excited and happy I am for this position, this has been a dream of mine for ages!
We're incredibly honored to host the 4th @FARMWISEproject General Assembly here @WUR Wageningen University! A warm welcome to all our colleagues and project partners from across Europe. Looking forward to two days of insightful discussion and collaboration on water innovations!
🌱 The 4th #FARMWISE General Assembly is underway in Wageningen!
Partners meet to align on 🇪🇺 sustainable agriculture goals, share results, and plan next steps—plus a visit to Hoge Veluwe 🌳
Big thanks to #WageningenUni for hosting!

Congratulations to @MonicaXimenaG from @hydr_vub for successfully defending her PhD thesis on wildfires and groundwater recharge in Bolivia in the framework of the @VLIRUOS IUC Crea project with the UCB. Well done, Monica!
Calling all students! Present your BSc, MSc or PhD research in a short (3 Min) video for a chance to win a free conference registration for Davos 2024. Find out more at https://t.co/K2r0EGL3HR
New Publication Alert!
Our latest article presents a finite-element groundwater flow model for open pit mines and co-created management strategies for safe mining operations and environmental impact mitigation.

MSc thesis successfully completed by Gaël Kobessen: Potential impact of #sand_mining on water resources. 💡 If you take the sand, you take the alluvial aquifer, you reduce recharge to deep geology. A combination of MODFLOW + hydrogeological & participatory fieldwork in Botswana.
Exciting new research alert! Our latest research shows that prolonged drought periods increase the intensity of floods in Southern Africa. @FraFull, @Alessia_Matano, @AnneVanLoon, @comte_jc https://t.co/RAcE7SsL15
The future groundwater status is influenced more by anthropogenic factors than climatic factors. Check out our new manuscript (preprint) in the Hydrology and Earth System Sciences journal @EGU_HESS for more details. with Steven Rusli, AlbrechtWeerts, Victor Bense

Groundwater researchers from @VUBrussel visited Wageningen University this week to share knowledge and strenghten collaboration.
Thank you @SyedHydro for the warm welcome and interesting workshop and seminar on groundwater and drought!
Hosting my mentor and PhD promoter, the incredible Prof @MarijkeHuysmans, with my current group @HydrologyWur feels like a dream come true. Such an inspiring time spent together, learning and sharing insights. Grateful for this amazing experience! #PhDSupervisorVisit#WUR
Back in the #Botswana#sand_rivers! ☀️🇧🇼☀️
The aim of this trip is to validate findings from study sites across Botswana and South Africa with people affected by #sand_mining and policymakers then co-develop work packages for a future proposal. 🗒️
Safely arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, eager to explore the stunning Mother City while gearing up for the IAH conference @IAH2023! #CapeTownAdventures#IAHCapeTown
📣 Reminder time: Are you a talented postdoc with an innovative research idea? We are very happy to announce the 2nd call of our fantastic impACT programme VUB! https://t.co/s7mmo6wBY1
