🇯🇵 The Atomic Bombings of Japan 1945
During the final days of World War II, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan
On August 6, 1945 the United States dropped an atomic bomb called Little Boy on Hiroshima It is estimated that around 100,000–140,000 people died in Hiroshima by the end of 1945 including people who died later from injuries and radiation-related effects
Then, on August 9, 1945, the United States dropped a second atomic bomb, “Fat Man,” on Nagasaki. An estimated 60,000–70,000 people died there by the end of 1945
The attacks caused enormous destruction and long-term suffering. They remain among the most devastating events in human history
Japan announced its intention to surrender on August 15, 1945, and formally signed the surrender documents on September 2, 1945 bringing World War II to an end
The bombings remain a deeply debated historical event, with historians discussing both their military context and their enormous humanitarian consequences
A man spent years waiting for his wife at the same railway station
Every day, he came back with the same hope. Trains arrived and left, but he never stopped waiting
People would tell him, “You should move on
But his answer was simple
Love is not about how long you wait. It is about how deeply you believe.
Could you wait that long for someone you truly love
