It’s been 40 days since the martyrdom of Imam Hussain Ibne Ali, his family and companions at Karbala by the forces of Yazid (r. 680–683).
The women and children were taken captive after Karbala and taken to Kufa and then Damascus, where Zaynab (sister of Imam Hussain) gave impassioned speeches, condemning Yazid and spreading the news of massacres of Karbala.

We asked for perspectives from the youth on women empowerment during our seminar @gcuniversitylhr on pathways of employment for women and their health related needs. Students of GCU @SyedaNaima13 and a student @artool_b of UCL London @ucl gave their opinions.
Bravo! Thanks.

Don't you agree that the world seems like a better place after drinking a cup of chai in the morning? After all, your morning hasn't properly begun unless you've had a piping hot glass of cutting chai-a frothy concoction of milk, loose tea leaves, spices and sugar. Once this mix has been hardboiled to an earthy brown colour, you know it's ready to be poured into tiny glasses that are also almost synonymous with chai in tea stalls across the nation.
In today’s fast-changing world, when everyone is glued to their screens, for some just leaving their house and going out for a cup of chai which they enjoy with their newspaper is enough. That’s the beauty of living an easygoing life, a callback to simpler times when we enjoyed and lived every moment to its fullest.
So, what's your favourite way to enjoy chai? Let us know in the comments below.

We are pleased to see our MIYAWAKI Forest growing well at our Main Campus. We are grateful for the support of Total Parco’s CEO, Mr Mehmet Celepoglu, and his team for this initiative, which is a great example of the partnership for the environment sustainability between our University @gcuniversitylhr and a private sector company.
A delightful talk by Mr Mehmet Celepoglu, the CEO of TOTAL PARCO, today @gcuniversitylhr. He highlighted his core values of safety & sustainability and diversity & inclusion and how he has transformed the culture at Total Parco Pakistan Limited during the last three years. The talk offered great insights for our faculty and students. He also inaugurated alongside me the new Miyawaki Forest. Excellent all round!
