Something that I also didn't like about this early design is the overall male-oriented design (Suit, proportions), which I thought didn't fit the character. I think an androgynous/genderless silhouette fits more the concept of an ascended being.

I made this first concept for the Monarch but I ended up going for a completely different design
It was too similar to the umbrella man from the interloper arg, and they didn't look that interesting.
I kept the lamp tho, just switched it for a tesseract

the other is the amazing digital circus.
