Our MP @EdwinMuyunga paid a visit to @RotaractKibuli for their fellowship
about “Preconception & Childhealthcare” by Dr. @kutserinah & below were his key takeaways;

Club CEO, I did visit KIBULI Gov’t today and below are my take away from the topic Preconception and child healthcare.

Preconception is a period before conception.
Preconception tests are important for identifying potential health issues and ensuring both partners are in optimal health before trying to conceive.

Below are some that Dr Elinah Kuteesa shared.

1. Complete Blood Count (CBC): To check for anemia or other blood disorders.

2. Blood Group Type*: To determine if there are any compatibility issues that could affect pregnancy. She also emphasized about the blood group charge ie A- or A+ and encourage that you shd try to get a partner that is of opposite blood group charge.

3. Genetic Carrier Screening: To identify if either partner is a carrier for genetic disorders such as cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia. If your a carrier try to get a partner who is normal.

4. Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Screening: To test for infections like HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia.

In memory of our late friend Josephine Charlotte Namatovu, we'll also be planting trees in Kisoro for our Mission Green Project, known as #GoGreen4JoJo, during our club retreat in the area.

Earlier today at 6am, we set off for Kisoro ahead of our #KANOsRetreat which will also include a tree planting project dubbed #GoGreen4Jojo

The long weekend will also include various activities and training sessions conducted by various Rotarians from our mother club, @rckampalanorth

Our different buddy groups, Mabirizi, Mapeera, Namaganda and Jemba competitively playing the "People and Places" game with Rt. @othembi as part of the on-going training session during the #KANOsRetreat in Kisoro.
