Older and classic items, such as this, can help bring about some comfort and nostalgia for people with dementia. Patients have been reading and enjoying them, which is brilliant!

Today our wonderful patients on Cedars ward spent time engaging in some much needed art therapy 🎨 The theme was tropical birds 🦩🐦
We had some lovely vibrant colours used and some brilliant artwork produced 💜

Today on Cedars we have got all green fingered and tried our hand at gardening and growing vegetables....some lovely pots complete with tomatoes and sweet peppers 😁😝 @PennineCareNHS @Sylvieface

@laineysadlier Yeah it's better than a kick in the teeth, but definitely not what it's made out to be!!

@laineysadlier Very lucky we have family who cover the other 3 days in the week. As we couldn't afford the extortionate rent and full time nursery, even with the "free hours".
We spread ours across the year too, as we need holidays covered, so it's actually only 20 hours a week we can use!

@laineysadlier Exactly this! Oscar was going nursery 1 day a week and now goes 2 days a week. But we have to pay extra for pre half 7 start plus another half hour, as you can only claim 10 hours a day. Plus the food and bits on top. So we are still paying 🤷🏻‍♀️
