It learned those things because it's a LANGUAGE learning model, learning from things we do in our own language. Eventually we'll run out of writing habits that AI doesn't share, so why say "it can keep that" and try to change? Write how you want; otherwise you're running forever.

anybody can make “100 beats a month” but how many are actually good / fleshed out? once I stopped caring about outworking everyone, my 15-20 beats a month felt way more rewarding. artists are losing the practice of patience

(I still took the deal despite it being MUCH cheaper than my usual pricing, TBH, but the deal breaker was finding out they were doing that and then still feeding the results to AI.)

It also takes time, which most artists don't necessarily have because they need the paycheck of a 9-5. My favorite artist's got half a million subs after 17 years of decent success, and he still needs a 9-5; why should we expect the average upcomer to have more time?

Recording, releasing, and marketing an album costs a lot of money. Most developing artists don't have it, nor do they have Drake's team, network, or infrastructure either. It's not a fair comparison. You can't treat output as a function of work ethic.

To add my 2 cents... that literally did happen to me; the books and scrap paper did get taken. By this logic, I should be another AI shill. Yet here I am, 9 years in as a legitimate musician, directly because of the blocking at that. What stops them from doing the same as me?

AI folks love to pretend it was gatekeepers that prevented them from pursuing art, like someone stepped into their house and slapped the pencil out of their hand and blocked them from YouTube, because it's easier than admitting you have zero passion for actually creating things.

The only lens through which there is truly such a thing as too many musicians/artists is the economic lens. All are entitled to a chosen form of artistic expression, albeit the audience is in turn also entitled to their opinion on that expression.

@_brewchi My old internship boss once did a double-take when I said I'd done a 6 minute track. ...probably would've had an aneurysm if I told him my longest was actually 8:31. 😄

Half-jokes aside though, 4 minutes shouldn't be extended; not that long ago when it was normal track length.
