@daddyenoe@kofi_rawlings Good evening @daddyenoe the way forward is collaboration. This is the starting point. Please send a dm let's have a one on one about this.
This is the realest post I've read on this in a while. You're not just describing a problem, you're mapping the exact fault lines where Nigeria's agro-industrial future keeps breaking down.
The cassava-to-flour hub in Ogun? That's not a "small business" story broo. That's a value chain collapse in real time! Demand exists, labour exists, raw material exists, but the infrastructure to finish the job (logistics, packaging standards, financing, aggregation) doesn't. So the margin walks out of the country.
Here's what we've learned building industrial agro-infrastructure: the raw material isn't the asset. The finishing capacity is. Whoever owns the processing, standards, and distribution layer captures the 10x value. Right now, that's not us.
We don't need more "small farming" narratives. We need industrial coordination. Connecting processing hubs, standardising output, and building logistics that don't collapse at scale.
You've clearly spent time on the ground seeing this firsthand. I'd love to have a one-on-one conversation because I think there's real power in combining your on-the-ground insights with the infrastructure work we're doing. We could build something that actually finishes what we start, instead of just documenting the collapse.
Please let's discuss in DM🙏🏾
✅WHY MANY BEGINNERS LOSE MONEY IN AGRO-COMMODITY TRADING (1/8)
The biggest mistake I see beginners make?
They don’t understand WEIGHT.
This may sound funny until you realize that many people want to trade maize, rice, soybeans, sesame, ginger, and other commodities without knowing the difference between a kilogram and a ton.
Some don’t even know how many kilograms make one metric ton.
How then do you:
✍🏻 Negotiate prices?
✍🏻 Calculate profits?
✍🏻 Verify quantities?
✍🏻 Know if a supplier is cheating you?
Imagine trying to sell land without understanding the difference between a plot and a hectare.
That’s exactly what many beginners are doing in agro trading.
Before you invest one naira into agro commodities, learn the language of weight.
It could save you from expensive mistakes.
To be continued…
