Dr @AzzamAlkassir 2024 paper in British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies examines the theory of Radical Flank Effects through al-Nusra Front's shift between 'moderation' & 'radicalism' (2012-2017).
He argues that moderation can be a strategic tool for militant groups.
Even with recent hope in Syria, the question: 'how can we improve education in refugee camps?' remains relevant to Syria and other contexts.
