This series of tapes were released in the early 2000s by Sawt El Ghad, a small Suweida based recording company.
Aside from the diversity of musical genres and artists represented, the series is a notable document of musical heritage from the Houran region.

Ismail Al-Agha was born in Aleppo, where he began singing in the mid-nineties at a young age. He has sung dabke, mawal and attaba, and performed songs in the Kurdish language and the Iraqi dialect. Today, he resides in Sweden and performs concerts for the Syrian community there.
On this album and in others, Al-Ahmad's ability to perform the Aleppo mawal is demonstrated with his strong and able voice. Despite that, he spent most of his life performing shaabi and dabke songs in clubs and parties.
