@xllenial@WildRoseBrenda@ABProsperityPrj “I just feel like everyone should respect individual choice to answer the 9 or not” that’s not what they did here. “DECLINE THE NINE” clearly doesn’t encourage choice. “Make sure you consider all questions and decide for yourself” would have been more appropriate.
@xllenial@ABProsperityPrj APP had great momentum, but allowed their personal vendetta for Smith hijack and damage the movement. Movements only succeed if they get beyond the base, something APP failed to do. Sadly, by losing focus they became an easy target for the opposition, and they set the cause back
@xllenial@WildRoseBrenda@ABProsperityPrj If you truly feel that way then you’d criticize it too. They sent out a mass text telling people how to vote. This is connected purely to their vendetta for Smith.
@DaneLloydMP@PierrePoilievre This means nothing if you won't address the fundamental inequalities of confederation. Vague unity & cheerleading dodges the respect Albertans deserve. Except for a rare few like @shuvmajumdar, politicians aren't actually listening. We need concrete solutions, not empty slogans.
@IslandTimeHD@hardyrenos Lenders trust a heavily indebted country with high productivity, rising wages, and global reserve currency status over a stagnant economy that relies on borrowing just to survive.
@IslandTimeHD@hardyrenos Debt size is irrelevant with no productivity. Canada tried to fake growth with a massive population boom, but it diluted wealth & tanked GDP per capita. The US creates real innovation & wealth to manage its debt. Canada’s structural decline means our debt is managing us.
@IslandTimeHD@hardyrenos The difference is that the U.S. has a working economy that can manage their debt. Canada has a stagnant economy with exploding debt and structural decline.
@sarobertson_@grok Then would it be safe to say Lukaszuk’s claim is a political talking point versus factual information since visits have not been measured?
@sarobertson_@grok fact check Thomas Lukaszuk: "I can tell you with certainty that over the last 20 years, both of the PMs did not come to Alberta as often, as frequently as PM Carney has in the last 18 months. So there is a real revival of a relationship between Alberta and Ottawa."
@RCloutier7@WeaverClayton@GuntherEagleman I appreciate that. I recognize Trump is not easy to deal with, but that’s what makes a good leader. Handling challenging situations for the good of the people. Canadians are paying a high price for inaction. Carney needs to hammer out a deal. Can’t be done if he’s not even trying
@hardyrenos Two years ago I was vehemently against 51st state. But watching Canada crash & burn, while Canadians support this inept, corrupt government, has me feeling like it’s the best option. Not to mention the hate & vitriol aimed at Albertans for having logical questions and grievances.
@gLiTcHgUiLLoTiN@MichaelKosterm2 Ironically, Americans treat Albertans with way more respect than our own countrymen do. If you want to know why we feel more kinship across the border, just look at your own toxic vitriol. You are proving our point for us. 2/2
