@BocaJrsOficial Have an Outlier! and he is one of the best defenders in the @afa!
While some people might argue that old school aggressive center backs no longer exist i disagree.
Lautaro Di Lollo is a perfect reason to disagree as while he is a modern center back with a CRAZY pass percentage of 86.7% he is one of the most PHYSICAL defenders in the game.
I will discuss what makes Di Lollo so special and why he could progress to even greater heights within the world of football

In conclusion is Di Lollo a magical defender who wis every ball and progresses play seamlessly? No
He is a player with flaws yet he could still turn out to be a very exciting player in the way that he win the ball and his speed as well as being that traditional player.
The main things which are so exciting about Di Lollo are his duels and his passing and because he has both of those in his locker he is a very exciting player to watch.
The only thing i would suggest is that he needs to improve on his decision making as well as his cross-field passing and if he does he could very well find himself in Europe.

However all players have weakness and Di Lollo is no different.
This is seen as while Di Lollo attempts to progress the play in more areas than one his long passing isn't that great as he has only completed 11 out of 32 and hat this means is that he is unable to execute cross field balls and balls over the top of the defense.
As well as this there is always a downside to being a traditional defender and his issue is that because he likes to go into tackles there is always a risk of giving away more fouls and picking up more yellow cards so what i would suggest ere is that he should still be aggressive but only go in when he knows he will win the ball.
In terms of where i can see Di Lollo in the future.
I think about those clubs who want to control the possession but also have a will to defend traditionally and there is a club that springs immediately to my mind.
Brighton! This is because the De Zerbi style of play is very calculated and it typically remains around his team having possession and being able to dictate in many areas while having the best defense outside of the top 2. So he would be a very nice fit for Brighton due to his ability to fit the system and the fact that Brighton are a club who do have a nice scouting network who appreciate underrated players.
Some of the other clubs around Europe that come to my mind for Di Lollo are those like Benefice because they re a side who are known for developing many top players and i believe it could be a great place for Di Lollo to develop.
This is the part i really want to talk about as while Di Lollo has the capabilities of a modern defender what makes him different is his Old School defending.
This is because not only is Di Lollo an exciting modern player but he is also old school in the way he competes in DUELS.
This is shown as he has made 61 tackles and has made 13 blocks in order to keep 12 clean sheets.
This shows that not only does Di Lollo want to make a difference without the ball but he is also more that happy to be a traditional center back without it by nearly having half of his matches as clean sheets which is a GREAT amount.
One thing that i personally really like about Di lollo is that he is a Great athlete.
He is 6 foot 2 which is around the average height of a defender however the good thing about Di Lollo is that he has a really has initial burst which allows him to have more speed and get to places faster than others.
While he is average in his overall top speed what makes him so good is his initial burst and his stamina. what i mean is that he is ranked highly on the statistical side for his stamina which means nor=t only is he quick on his feet but he can maintain his highest speed for longer.
I think this is one of the STANDOUTS about Di Lollo because not only does this show that he is good on the ball but that he is also quick to get to the ball which might actually be why he sees a lot of it.
Additional while a traditional center back might receive the ball more in the center of the goal Di Lollo actually sees the ball a lot more out of the right hand side and this is because he is actually comfortable playing on the right and receiving the ball in those areas even though it isn't his primary position.
This number for Di Lollo might sound a bit boring because what if his passes are just a result of playing the ball around the back?
Wrong Di Lollo is a very Ambitious player whenever it comes to his passing and this is because he frequently has a high shot percentage which shows that he is getting further forward and up the field.
But aswell as this one of the most Important Stats of Di Lollo is that he is almost like a midfielser and this is because of the fact that he has a high percentage of Chances Created
What this means is that not only is Di Lollo getting on the ball but he is also making passes that MATTER.
The first thing that i would like to point out is his passing and the fact that it is VERY high for a defender.
To do this when i think about a defender who is very good with the ball at their feet is Pau Torres and this is because he is like a quarterback who can dictate pay with the ball and make several passes on the ground with a High Completion.
We can use him as a perfect example of what a modern footballer can be like with a ball at his feet and admittedly while Pau is in a greater league than Di lollo. What is CRAZY is that Di Lollo comes close to his passes completed.
This means that Pau also likes to have the ball at his feet and he is similar to Pau Torres even though the premier league is tougher but it shows that Di Lollo is SPECIAL.
In conclusion is joão an elite? NO but is he special? Yes! In order to become an elite the main thing that he needs to add to his game are goals and if he starts to take shots and score then I believe he can definitely get into the team at benfica.
And lets say his physical frame also happens to improve then he could become great he could actually make the premier league with his ability as he poses ability in abundance.
I can guarantee that João Rego will add both physicality and goals to his game and it is yet to be seen how dar he really can go.

João Rego in my opinion is one of the best upcoming players in world football and I believe that he already has the right tools to become an ELITE.

There is however one area which I think João has to improve on in order to get to the NEXT LEVEL and that is his goals.
The solution is SIMPLE as all though João dosen’t poses the most physical phrame whenever it comes to his strength in don't believe it is his biggest issue as he can clearly do other things without it such as creation.
I believe that in order to get more goals all he has to do is take more shots and this is because while all his other things are good a problem is that he has had 0 shots at all in his last two games.
This is an area which can of course be fixed by just taking more shots. But I wonder why dosen’t he do that at the moment? I think it's the fact that he needs to become a tiny bit more selfish whenever he has the ball as he used to be great at scoring from outside the bod in his academy days and if he can attempt those shots again I believe that it will increase his goals.
Aswell as this another thing about joão is that he is so press resistant. This was evident in his last game against guimares as he was fouled a total of SEVEN times and this is absurd. The reason? The entire front three of guimarães was fouled less in TOTAL.
What was the reason for this? Was it because of clumsy defending of players fouling him for no reason at all or is it because joão possess a UNIQUE ability to get on the ball in many areas. Which is what I believe makes him such a good footballer that players have to fouls him in order to stop him.
This means that if joão was to collect the ball in ANY area of the pitch there is a high chance of him engaging a few men and drawing in a foul which in turn means that he can be truly UNPLAYABLE on his day without fouling him
The first thing that I want to say about João is that he is a player who is willing to have lots of freedom and this can make him be a real DANGER whenever it comes to basically any opposition and this is because João is comfortable on both wings aswell as in the middle.
In his last game Filipe Coelho deployed him as a 10 however because joão plays with so much freedom he was also found in other areas some more than the 10.
And while some may argue that this isn't a great thing because it can lead to a lack of direction in attack i actually think different and I think it's one of the reasons he is so SPECIAL.
And what is also apparent is the willingness of João to repeatedly go to the right hand side even though he was deployed in the center. Why? Is it because he is more comfortable there or is it because he knows that he can create from anywhere the answer is the LATTER.
Another great tendency of João which you can see from the heat map is that he is willing to track back and win the ball for his team but more on that later.
Before you can understand how SPECIAL João really is you first have to ask yourself what do you want in your winger? Some would say that they want him to track back or some would state the obvious they want someone dangerous who scores and creates.
I believe João is a complete winger who can do both in an ABUNDANCE and I believe that if he can keep this he can truly become an ELITE.
