With support from the World Food Programme (WFP), Seed Systems Group (SSG) has been training local seed producers and agrodealers in Gabu, Guinea-Bissau on seed production technologies and input commercialization.
The Honourable Minister of Agriculture, M. Amadu Uri Guisse, was briefed on these efforts and expressed appreciation for SSG’s role in strengthening local seed supply mechanisms to enhance farmer productivity.
The SSG team met with CIMMYT to discuss SPTA tech: boosting maize yields by 14% & cutting costs by 40% by ending manual detasseling. This collaboration could fundamentally change the economics of farming for local seed companies and farmers alike.
