There's a large shortage of nursing assistants and nurses in quite a few facilities - why? Largely because management does not listen to staff & does not do the right thing. Staff can only take so much. Its so ridiculous.

Lol I’ve worked in psych and trauma. I get it. Still never put myself in a situation to be choked out or stabbed JUST because I was assigned a patient??? Absolutely not. In fact me being so DILIGENT about saying no - got us some more security and more standing orders lmfaoo

There’s very little risk as a Peds nurse. I work in Psych where I can literally be violently attacked at work. I also work the ED where I have no idea what’s coming thru the door. I took care of my 1st corona patient on Thursday night after being pulled to a diff unit.

You need to look into unionizing in your state. Your license shouldn’t be at risk for saying no. You’re not a martyr and somebody has to be able to do your job. Nurses saying “welp it’s just the way it is” are the reason we have poor pay, no unions, & keep being overwhelmed lol

I understand very well that if I’m pulled to work a different floor & I get to that floor, take report and find out I got a corona patient. I betta do it or my license is at risk. Once u take report U R RESPONSIBLE!!!!! That’s how it works where I am.
