Nintendo and Steam will never delete your account unless you ask them and Microsoft does have a 2 year clause, but it gets nullified as soon as you buy something, that gives you a license without timelimit (game, dlc, etc)

It just shows the result of corporate psychological manipulation over decades and how successful it has been.

It all started with horse skin DLC in Skyrim and ended with not OWNING anything anymore.

And many see no issue
