The 41 year old from cronton formed a relationship with a 26 year old woman on the Wirral using the alias louis bonner but she ended it after discovering his 2006 rape conviction via google

He then became controlling and threatening turning up at her house contacting her family and on may 4 assaulted her in front of her six year old daughter by kicking her grabbing her neck and holding her head down

Martin who was on the sex offenders register indefinitely after serving 11 years for gang raping an 18 year old woman in 2006 also failed to notify police he was using a false name and living with a child

He pleaded guilty to controlling or coercive behaviour assault and failing to comply with notification requirements and was sentenced at liverpool crown court on july 9 to 27 months in prison with a 10 year restraining order

The judge described it as classic controlling and coercive behaviour aggravated by his extensive criminal record including a previous conviction for assault and coercive behaviour in 2017
