🚨 RARE MODERATE RISK FOR FLASH FLOODING IN UTAH TODAY!

This is a serious flooding setup for southern Utah. The Weather Prediction Center has placed portions of Utah under a Level 3 of 4 risk for excessive rainfall today, with dangerous flash flooding possible.

A Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday evening across much of southern and eastern Utah as widespread rain and embedded heavier downpours move through the region.

🌧️ Here’s what has me concerned:

* Normally dry washes, slot canyons and streams could quickly fill with fast-moving water.
* Localized areas of heavy rain could produce significant flash flooding.
* Backcountry roads may become impassable as floodwaters cross roadways.
* Flooding could develop quickly, even in areas that don’t see the heaviest rainfall.

⚠️ If you’re heading outdoors in southern Utah today, take this seriously. Avoid slot canyons, stay out of normally dry washes and NEVER drive through floodwater. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle off the road.

This is not a day to take chances with Utah’s backcountry. Conditions can change quickly, and floodwaters can be deadly.

The billionaire, Julio Herrera Velutini, was charged in 2022 in a federal bribery case involving a former governor of Puerto Rico.

Habba is a former Trump personal lawyer who later served as acting US attorney for New Jersey.
