- I was originally booked for a seat on the defunct Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, but changed to a flight that left an hour earlier.
- He was also scheduled to fly on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which was shot down over Ukraine in 2014, but opted for another flight to save money.
A double coincidence that saved his life.
