Global Technology Leader at Jacobs...father of 3. Passionate about water quality and building a better world through challenging today and reinventing tomorrow
@dwightquebec Agree in principle that cancel culture is leading to an increasingly vapid society. Not a fan of some of JPs views but to quote Monty Pythons’ Life of Brian “You are all individuals...you’ve got to work it out for yourselves”. Alas, critical thinking is becoming a lost art
“Ruth Ginsburg’s life was one version of the American dream,” Chief Justice John Roberts said. Her parents were poor immigrants. “Ruth used to ask what is the difference between a bookkeeper in Brooklyn and a Supreme Court justice. Her answer: one generation.”
@dwightquebec Perhaps it is not his re-discovery that is important; rather, it’s about influence. The work essentially became the opening salvo of the scientific revolution.
@dwightquebec@PeterDold @imrefiu No need to bring back the one-step model. It’s more important to teach process engineers to review the output of their model to ensure it reflects reality. In the case of a design, model many scenarios are required to generate expected design conditions and boundary conditions
@dwightquebec @imrefiu Well if you’re going to do that, then there’s no reason for a two step model🙂...in fact, for design (meaning aeration design) one should look at the range of possible oxygen demand scenarios, from startup to design, and in some cases from shortcut N-removal to full nitrification
