🚨 Tackling human trafficking in Papua New Guinea! 🚨
In collaboration with USAID's Pacific RISE-CTIP Project, implemented by The Asia Foundation, The Salvation Army PNG (TSA) is leading the fight against human trafficking through the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Prevention to Reintegration Continuum Program.
What are we doing?
Raising awareness in schools to prevent TIP
Engaging communities across 9 provinces to take action
Providing essential services for TIP survivors: protection, case management, repatriation & reintegration
For over 15 years, TSA has been a key player in the fight against human trafficking in PNG, working hand-in-hand with government partners and local organizations. With support from USAID Pacific RISE-CTIP and TAF, TSA staff are out there on the frontlines, educating communities, providing vital resources, and ensuring people know where to turn for help.
Their recent 20 Days of Activism initiative last year was a huge success, with TSA working alongside community champions, pastors, village leaders, and government departments to amplify their message and create lasting change.
Together, we can stop human trafficking!

Mālō e lelei from Tonga, a National Anti-Human Trafficking Month message from Mrs. Telesia Fakava Kaitapu, Immigration Director of Tonga and Co-Chair of the National Technical Working Group on Counter Trafficking.
The Tonga Immigration Department is a key partner in the fight against human trafficking, collaborating closely with USAID Pacific RISE-CTIP as part of the broader regional efforts. With support from @USAID Pacific RISE-CTIP, the Immigration Department trains its enforcement officers to recognize the signs of trafficking and effectively investigate cases. This training empowers officers to address trafficking crimes, ultimately contributing to the successful prosecution of traffickers and ensuring the safety and protection of vulnerable individuals.
As a vital part of the national strategy, Mrs. Telesia Fakava Kaitapu and her team continue to work alongside key stakeholders in the government and civil society, strengthening Tonga's commitment to combatting human trafficking and promoting fair labor practices. The Immigration Department is actively involved with the Technical Working Group, supporting efforts to align national policies with international best practices in the fight against human trafficking.

This month, we come together with @USAID Pacific RISE-CTIP to raise awareness about human trafficking, honor the resilience of survivors, and commit to combating this global crime.
👉 What is human trafficking?
It’s the exploitation of individuals through force, fraud, or coercion for labor or sex. Today, an estimated 27.6 million people worldwide are trapped in this horrific crime.
We can all make a difference!
💡 Learn to recognize the signs.
📣 Speak up and share resources.
🤝 Support organizations and policies that protect victims and prosecute traffickers.
By working together—governments, communities, businesses, and individuals—we can help protect lives, promote justice, and create a future free from trafficking.
Let’s take action this month and every day. 💙
