After ICAI introduced the UDIN ceiling for Tax Audit, a serious issue has emerged.
CAs are generating UDINs u/s 44AB(e), Income-tax Act, 1961, even where turnover exceeds ₹2 crore/₹3 crore, as no limit prescribed u/s 44AB(e).
@theicai@IncomeTaxIndia@FinMinIndia@CAclubindia
One more important question for @theicai:
If CAs are misleading clients by presenting the ICAI UDIN ceiling as a statutory turnover limit under the Income-tax Act, will ICAI take disciplinary action against such CAs?
Taxpayers deserve clarity, transparency & correct information.

The distinction between Section 44AB(a) and 44AB(e) is technical and often not clear to clients.
But some CAs appear to be using the UDIN ceiling to confuse/mislead clients.
ICAI must clarify if a CA is allowed to generate UDINs u/s 44AB(e) where turnover exceeds ₹2 cr/₹3 cr?

Dear Taxpayers!📢
It is hereby informed that the e-way bill generation process is currently experiencing technical challenges. The technical team is actively working to resolve the issue at the earliest.
As an emergency measure, the following decisions have been taken:
1. For e-way bills expiring on 31st December, 2024, a one-day extension will be granted once the portal becomes operational.
2. Taxpayers/transporters who are unable to generate e-way bills are permitted to move goods during this time. The e-way bills must be generated once the portal is restored, which will be communicated accordingly.
Your patience and cooperation in this regard are greatly appreciated.
