I want to tell you about Spain.

It's 1975. Francisco Franco just died. For nearly four decades, this man ran Spain with an iron fist, military dictatorship, political repression, the whole thing. And now he's gone.

The Francoist machine, the generals, the loyalists, the entire apparatus, they had every tool they needed to stop what came next. They had the guns. They had the institutions. They could have blocked democratisation cold.

They didn't.

Why?

Not because they had some moral awakening. Not because they suddenly believed in democracy. They made a calculation. They looked at the future and thought: if we fight to keep total control, we might destroy the thing we're trying to keep.

Zelenskyy swore he’d take it back. Russia’s gaming out Ukrainian amphibious assaults because they know this pressure is building toward something nasty.

Ukraine’s turning occupied Crimea into an unlivable shithole and the locals are starting to freak out... 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Hours-long gas lines, businesses shutting down, empty shelves, no diesel. People can’t work, can’t pay workers, can’t feed their families. Tourism dying. Putin’s “liberated” paradise is collapsing under precision strikes.

Ukraine’s not even in NATO yet but they’re center stage for the third year running, and winning... 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
Largest combat-experienced army in Europe that actually wants to be on the better side.
Degrading the Russian military while Russia helps Iran kill Americans. Enemy of my enemy is my friend, plus they share western values. This partnership makes sense.

NATO creators are exhausted with Trump’s public America-bashing but they still want the US strong... 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
They get tired of the drama and Greenland rants, but deep down they know the alliance needs America.
Overall mood at the summit? Hopeful. Ukraine gaining ground, support locked in. Things are moving in the right direction.

Overnight drones hit 14 ships in the Sea of Azov and Kerch Port, 10 oil tankers and 4 ferries. This is day SEVEN of nonstop strikes.

The commander of Ukraine's drone forces says 90 ships have been hit so far.

Putin's maritime supply lines through Kerch are getting bled dry, one tanker at a time. 🇺🇦🇷🇺

🔴 Lindsey Graham is dead. Trump releases statement on the passing of the longtime US Senator ❗️

Love him or hate him, the man was a fixture in American politics for decades. Started as McCain's right hand, then became one of Trump's loudest allies, that pivot alone was one of the wildest character arcs in DC history.

Trump put out a statement, which tells you Graham stayed in the inner circle till the end.

A whole era of Republican politics just closed out. 🇺🇸

🚨 Iran just published a hit list. Trump, Netanyahu, and European leaders personally named for "hits" 🤬

Netanyahu, his ministers, the head of Israel's presidential administration, all named. Then they threw Trump on there too, plus European leaders.

This isn't diplomacy. This is a regime openly telegraphing assassination targets like it's a menu. Whether it's posturing or real, putting named leaders on a public revenge list is insane escalation. 🇮🇷🇮🇱🇺🇸

🚨 Russia claims it wrecked Odesa and Chornomorsk ports overnight, ships, fuel tanks, all of it 💀

Odesa port got hit: military cargo spots and a logistics warehouse from a company called Odtrans.

Chornomorsk got it as well: fuel storage tanks, two cargo ships, a ferry, and a patrol boat supposedly providing cover.

None of this is fully verified yet. Russia's MoD loves to exaggerate, but if even half is real, that's a serious blow to Ukraine's supply lines. 🇷🇺🇺🇦

Zelensky told Americans: we’re fighting for your freedom too... 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
He thanked the US for early intel and Patriots when shit was darkest. Ukraine’s building insane drone tech and holding the line so we don’t have to.
Russians don’t value freedom; that’s why they’re getting their asses kicked. Respect.

🔴The Kerch Bridge is the most important piece of infrastructure in this war and Ukraine keeps messing with it. Damaged multiple times, now covered in smoke screens like that’ll hide a 19km bridge. Russia’s main artery to Crimea is a constant target. Cut this and the whole southern operation starves.

Russian forces are now going after Ukraine's drone stockpiles, not just the drones themselves... 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺They struck a Ukrainian military armament depot in Kuchinovka, which was reportedly being used to store UAVs and drone components.

$45 billion for the XM30 program and it better deliver, crew survivability is massively upgraded... 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Crew sits deep in a protected cell, not next to ammo in the turret.
Better blast modeling, spall protection, modular armor you can swap for Pacific vs Europe fights. Dead crew = years of lost expertise. Smart.

US Army just dropped the XM30, the Bradley’s replacement is a 50mm autocannon beast ready to target Russian armor.
This thing’s getting combat tested through Ukraine’s Lynx right now. 50mm cannon, AI targeting, drone launchers, hybrid stealth drive.
The future of mechanized infantry looks nasty.

Biggest win from the NATO summit: Trump agreed to license Patriot production to Ukraine
No more begging for interceptors while Russia lobs missiles at civilians.

Ukraine will build their own. Takes time to ramp up but this is massive for everyone, more air defense for the alliance and it fucks Russia’s whole attrition game.
