@swfong @StorySlug I had a discussion yrs ago w a guy who watched TFH w his Russian then-gf & he asked about that scene (which is ambiguous). She sort of shrugged it off as “rape by invitation” which according to her is a thing in Russian culture? It had been a long time so he was fuzzy on details.

@StorySlug I may be the only person in the world who liked AS and TFH as stories. I read them about a decade older than the typical starry-eyed Randian and felt no attraction to the philosophy. I love the TFH film with Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal, mostly for the swoony Freudian subtext.
