Tonbridge Bicycle User Group. We love cycling and want to promote the use of bikes as transport within our town and share ideas to improve local infrastructure
@sustrans @UniofOxford It’s a pity then that when I cycle I get abuse hurled at me by motorists telling me to get out the way. I was also hooted by a car driver yesterday for walking in the road to give someone social distancing
@WeAreCyclingUK@TMBC_Kent the #QuarryHill pop up cycle path KCC introduced is not suitable and #TBUG does not encourage cyclists to rely on it to keep them safe from motor vehicles or from accidents.
Just to clarify that no Councillor or lobbying group asked for the scheme that KCC has implemented. On the contrary we made them aware at the earliest opportunity that we opposed this infrastructure.

@WeAreCyclingUK Tonbridge local council and KCC introduced a poorly designed pop up route on Quarry Hill that is so narrow and dangerous this local bike group is concerned it will erase all the good that has come from more cyclists.
@TMBC_Kent@TBUGTonbridge@RTWBUG#TBUG This won’t happen. We asked your leaders to seek extra funds for pop up cycle lanes & other measures to make #Tonbridge safer. We were told it won’t happen soon. So it’s only safe to drive. Shambles.
@TBUGTonbridge@RTWBUG@TonbridgeDaily We are looking for #Tonbridge cyclists to help TBUG survey the town to identify existing routes and paths, roads, routes you want improved or created. Visit our FB page or respond here for details
