Just as wokeness has gone too far, anti-wokeness has also gone too far. Even the slightest reference to a minority group in a movie, video game etc. causes a ridiculous anti-woke, bigot brigade on this app. Everyone is entitled to free speech, but where is common sense anymore?
Should they make Professor Snape and Helen of Troy black? Should they cast a trans person as a Greek Warrior? Should they cast an outspoken liberal feminist as Supergirl? I personally disagree with these choices, and I wish they would stop. But then again, it's really not a big deal and the productions themselves are still incredible.
It's almost like this app has some kind of bigot lobby group or something (don't get me wrong, I understand and support a complete free speech app). I was almost conviced it was going to be a woke adaptation. Not at all. Go see it.
Saw #odyssey The Odyssey last night in 70mm IMAX. Don't listen to the haters on this app, the movie was incredible. The visuals, sound, acting, Nolan's adaptation, everything. We are seeing it in #Dolby next week. MUST SEE 70mm IF YOU CAN.
@GarryCheeseman@JonnyRoot_ What has she said? That super girl "goes both ways"? That's just a bi joke that any guy would make. That the movie "isn't centered around a man?" That's just true. Rachel Ziegler interviews were way more cringe and insufferable.
@MARVEL_DC_USA What's the big deal? She's just doing some fun trash talk. This isn't a woke Rachel Ziegler - Snow White situation. Milly seems pretty cool and a good choice for Supergirl.
I'm seeing a lot of unfounded trash talk about #supergirl . Just because Milly said the movie, "doesn't surround a man." I get outrage when movies force woke ideologies on audiences, but this seems like too much outrage for something so little. Seems paid and coordinated.
I'm seeing a lot of trash talking about this #Mario sale at @HeritageAuction Accusations of laundering, etc. Why can't this be worth $3mm? It's the rarest example of the most beloved franchise in gaming history. Basically impossible to find and a piece of this calibur may never hit the market again. Gaming is a secular trend. $3mm is nothing to the ultra wealthy. So tell me, why isn't this worth $3mm?
A sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. just sold for $3 million at auction
Heritage Auctions also included a working NES console in the sale in case the buyer decides to actually open it
@MothQueenMoon It's the rarest example of the most beloved franchise in gaming history. Near impossible to find. Gaming is a secular trend. Why isn't it worth $3mil? That's nothing to wealthy collectors.
@patoclemente This is the highest graded example of the most beloved franchise in gaming history. Sealed unopened, near impossible to find. Why can't it be a legit purchase? $3mil is nothing for wealthy collectors.
@BlooHook You could get a good tv for half that price. But still, PC makes better sense even if it's a little more expensive, and you can do modular upgrades to the PC over time. Plus there's just more pride in that hobby.
@adamhlavac@UniversalPics Didn’t even realize there were 70mm widescreen films; I had thought 70mm was an IMAX thing (just now learning about this stuff). So it probably doesn’t make sense to watch this in IMAX (except the obvious benefit of a huge screen)? Would you agree?
