@MsUtopia@noplaceforsheep How? There are substantial records to indicate that Epstein was an Israeli asset. Why would Epstein be the only one facilitating blackmail material?
@ChrisLynnHedges@sethharpesq This is the same playbook as the ex KMT (GMD) armies that retreated into northern Indo-China used (back in the 50s!). With CIA support. Unsurprised that it was repeated.
@noplaceforsheep The same religion that justified crusades? The same religion that was used as a tool of the state to try and destroy numerous aboriginal cultures? Religion has long been used to "other" groups, and to make them less than human.
@danilic This minerals deal is a more brutally explicit version of what happened under the Marshall Plan . . . you can have money to rebuild Europe, but only if you a) buy American and b) give us near exclusive access to strategic resources.
@BlairWilliams26@NTEUnion It's not as if universities are full of people who know how to research, write papers, or develop policy . . . oh, wait . . . sounds like an honours paper, or masters, or PhD . . . or even a solid 3rd or 4th year project with "real world application" to get people "job ready"
@simonahac@PeterDutton_MP So at about 1100MW each (AP1000), you are probably talking a pair of units for a site. But that's just a guess.
You get some efficiencies in auxiliary services that way (warehousing, workshops, keeping work crews fully utilised etc).
@MichaelM_ACT It's a minimalist outcome . . . 1.5 degrees is baked in as a virtual certainty. It would be better to approach the BAU scenario (which is >2.0).
@RDNS_TAI Fully off? Or simply dialled back? The existing transmission infrastructure wasn't designed around distributed power generation, so not all the lines are big enough to take all the power.
@MFWitches If the educational institution is producing rape-enablers, then that institution isn't fit for purpose, and is unlikely to provide sufficient correction to the student.
@bxxurscsQtCwBW8@WA_Anthony23@abcnews Not rich, but a solid income stream . . . which still makes them extremely eligible renters. Which puts them in the ranks of being able to afford the rent (assuming there was a rental available).
@abcnews@Bowenchris I reckon you'd lose a few years in simple regulatory approval and challenges before you'd even be allowed to pour any concrete. If it's 15 years after the first concrete pour, it's closer to 20 from "I want one, let's start the ball rolling".
@JudahKerbel @AdamMGrant I find every single day in the office to be a waste. When I'm required to be in the office, I know that I'll achieve virtually nothing because of all the forced social interactions which add no benefit. Leave me alone and let me work (which I do very happily from home).
@maximumwelfare I thought BDS was so hideously evil that it can be barely mentioned without needing to do a "Hail Mary" . . . and yet this boycott is ok?
