Fantastic to see this published, led by Profs Okosieme Chatterjee and Rees showing resistance to thyroid hormone appears to have adverse cardiac outcomes over a life-course - more research is urgently needed

There may be a link between hyperparathyroidism and cardiovascular health. Scientists are studying how elevated parathyroid hormone levels might contribute to increased risk of heart disease
Parathyroidectomy, the surgical removal of overactive parathyroid glands, is the primary treatment for hyperparathyroidism. This restores normal calcium levels. High volume surgeons have the best rates of long-term cure: https://t.co/5PqnmiidnN
Kidney stones, a complication of hyperparathyroidism, occur due to the increased calcium in the urine. High levels of calcium in the urine can form crystals that eventually grow into stones. These stones can cause severe pain and may require medical intervention for removal
Hyperparathyroidism can lead to the removal of calcium from bones, causing osteoporosis over time. If you have been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, a dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) bone density scan may be helpful to assess your risk of fracture.
