Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy.
One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what??
The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you.
Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!
Definitely a pot calling the kettle black moment, but on a serious note both are detrimental to hurting the ecosystem of Brawlhalla and the community as a whole.
On the aspect of AI art. I hate it, most people do, and as for the people who don’t care about art as much/don’t value it, they normally cannot draw and/or cannot describe their personal wants. I understand your standpoint of not wanting to wait that long nor wanting to pay some kind of “insane” price. Like it or not Art and Artists have been a large backbone for this game inspiring more people to put eyes and interest to this very community. Without what they did to put real eye candy onto this game giving it an actual story to look at a lot of people would not be that interested in this game. They gave life to the legends you love and got you into actually investing more of your time into this game. Remember the visuals of this said game being made by artists for the graphics such as characters, sigs, maps, ect. The very essence of what you compliment and adore was made with passion by people who care and actually put their soul into it. It’s not just a game it’s a combination of love with code art ideas and so much more. Using AI to shortcut something as simple as a thumbnail is a spit in the face towards the value of the game, the community, and your content. What happen to busting out photoshop and throwing something together, what happen to asking a friend, we used to be problem solvers with brains who used our minds to solve issues creatively by using our own tools to show integrity that you actually cared on the content you created. You know what I see when I see an ai thumbnail. You gave 0 care for your content you didn’t care on quality you took a shortcut and now probably that video isn’t worth watching cause what else did you skip on doing? Splicing, did you even make valid points in the video, are you worth listening to when you might be an ai voice with basic gameplay. Thumbnails are your hook to a viewers and that shows complete laziness and 0 care for the creative process so why can I trust you gave any actual effort. Supporting artists has always been a pleasure cause they provide color to every community. Not everyone can afford prices though so why not ask for permission to crop out their art and put it on a background. I mean screw permission for older older times we would crop and make them anyways but atleast provided credits in the description. It’s not that difficult.
As for those 24 hour streams, I’m happy you get your bag but it is nothing close to healthy for this community. The number of up and coming new streamers just wanting to enjoy the game and try to grow a community in a game having their discovery buried under just lazy unprofessional disappointing bot channels is too many to count. They cannot even be seen on the front page. Entertainment wise imagine a new viewer to Brawlhalla wanting to see real fun engaging gameplay or content or to interact with a streamer but oops nothing there except looped garbage doodoo gameplay or videos on repeat with a completely silent chat that makes them think the whole game is boring as a whole, the community is just as boring and uninteresting, and john brawlhalla will feel discouraged from even looking for more since “most”(front page) streams are like this. What if John wanted to stream this game but felt discouraged cause of this too and gave up. It’s a bad look to sponsors and future collaborators as well, ccv of jokers with a non active chat nobodies an actual fan of you. Can we lock in.
