@DearDara It might be helpful to write about ethanol byproducts that are laced with all these chemicals and antibiotics as a result of the ethanol process. It is a critical feed for most beef and other meats: factory or local “happy beef -Often inaccurately marketed as non-GM or grassfed.
Having sustainable farming requires a sustainable lifestyle for farmers. We are proud to be part of the solution and thankful our members help make a better food system possible for @GrownInMN food. via @NYTimes https://t.co/e1DTTFhnSl
When we talk about the sustainability of our farms, we mean it from an environmental, financial and lifestyle perspective. If we want healthy local food in the long term, we need farms that are viable in every sense.
Farmer Martin Larsen on LSP's podcast: "You have to stay financially viable to continue to operate the farm...But if you lose sight of soil health, 20 years from now you’re not going to have the farm productivity to pay the bills either. #soilhealth https://t.co/IkDGlxrqyC
@ABuckvold French Lake has done all of our processing for years. We love collaborating with them on recipes and new ideas- they even make organic versions of our sausages for us!
Hope your meal turns out fantastic!
Say what you want about politics, I am just grateful we have an awesome Agriculture Commissioner, @ThommyPetersen, as a result of the @GovTimWalz administration. Most voters or even governors don’t appreciate how critical Thom’s role is and how helpful he is to MN’s agriculture.
TBT - One of the best ads from 2018, still as evergreen today. Some leaders retreat and divide, but Minnesotans know better- they know that when we come together as One Minnesota we can do anything. @GovTimWalz and @LtGovFlanagan leading MN forward during crisis. #OneMinnesota
@janashortal @ElizShockman My perspective is that people want to work towards something they believe IN as well as something that supports having a life outside of work as you describe.
RE inflation comment above - two year numbers aren’t so dramatic as the one year headline. No inflation previous year.
A timely reminder for Halloween… in the UK they call it #sprinklegate when someone uses cancer causing food coloring on a treat. Here we call it FDA Approved

I'm not going to sugarcoat it: The COVID pandemic has been very hard for MPR and MPR News, and has dealt us some serious setbacks. But we can't raise prices or stop broadcasting to balance the books and keep people working and the news coming to you.
@kyle_barker@dhmontgomery I know parents who were vaccinated and are now rather sick after getting a breakthrough case from their young kids getting infected at school. There is also a new study showing one third of people have long covid symptoms - younger people included- best to avoid that for kids.
@NotShway_@Ralfinator@Seal2009@elonmusk Actually I don’t think you understand: Ultra wealthy grow assets as an owner & never sell shares. That way they never have “income” to be taxed. Tax rates or “loopholes” don’t matter if you don’t have any income. Just borrow against stock value to fund lifestyle & never pay tax.
We strive for a sustainable lifestyle for our team & farmers. @WilliamsBDavid writes a front line worker’s story & case for basic income: Dignity should mean work without grievous threat of death or injury; dignity should mean saving for emergencies, celebrations, retirement.
