History Club will be on every Tuesday in room 304 3.00pm-3.45pm. We will be researching the coal mining heritage of the Rhondda, with a view to interview ex-miners to document life and work in our area. Please join and/or let us know if you know any ex-miners for interviews!

#OTD 1879 Battle of Rorke's Drift: British garrison of 150 holds off 3,000-4,000 Zulu warriors. Eleven Victoria Crosses and a number of other decorations were awarded to the defenders. The 1964 film 'Zulu' portrays the battle. Well worth a watch.
#OTD 1898 - Australian Joe Darling becomes the first cricketer to hit a six in test cricket (before 1910, a 'six' was only awarded if the ball was hit out of the ground!)
