Today we’re honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day by celebrating the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Native peoples. Dr. David Colón shares the art of restringing wooden lacrosse sticks — a sport with deep indigenous roots. Keep reading to learn more…
🪵 Traditional sticks are made out of hickory, with the sidewall woven out of rawhide twine and the pocket strung with leather runners and bootlace. Each one is handmade and takes about a year to fully complete.
