Did you know that I not only help with cell division, but also with ciliogenesis. For you uncultured organelles who don’t know what ciliogenesis is the formation of cilia and flagella, which help the cells move.

FUN FACT: Centrioles look much like the Spanish treat, the churro because of the 9 short microtubules in a cylindrical shape

A centriole is a small set of microtubules arranged in a specific way. We are found in pairs and move towards opposite ends of the nucleus when it is time for cell division. How else would you get all your chromosomes?

There are about 100 trillion cells in the human body. How would all these cells be there without me? And furthermore, how would all these humans be alive without me? That’s right... they wouldn’t.

When mitosis and meiosis occur we are ALWAYS there to help them successfully divide. How would you other organelles develop in new cells if it was impossible to make new cells in the first place?
