James 2:5-8, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."
LDS teaching abuses this passage to justify praying for truth by ignoring that it says wisdom and not knowledge. It goes on to say that you must already have unwavering faith in God to receive the wisdom. The passage clarifies this for those that would twist this that if you question the truth, you are sure to receive nothing.
If you aren't Trinitarian, you aren't Christian. Period. You believe in a false christ. In fact, you're infinite polytheists, which is in direct opposition to God. Joseph Smith said this. Brigham Young confirmed this.
Modern "conservative" Mormons oppose transgenderism, then insist on identifying as something they aren't. The lack of self-awareness is as expected for a people blinded by a false gospel. We don't hate Mormons, we hope that this being brought to light opens many eyes to the truth.
@residentreformr They are both ditches on opposite sides of the same road—Mormons are nice and say everyone goes to one of their heavens while Muslims want to kill everyone to send them to hell.
James says to pray for wisdom without doubting, lest you receive nothing from God, not to ask if something is true or not like the unstable man. Mormons abuse this text ad nauseam.
Read the Book of Mormon.
Cover to cover.
Pray about it, asking sincerely to know whether it’s true (the final chapter provides specific guidance on this point).
Then tell me whether Latter-day Saints believe in Jesus Christ.
Will you accept that challenge?
Social media is filled with the righteous indignation of the Mormons---who claim to be the only true Church, all other churches are corrupt, their creeds an abomination, their ministers the hirelings of Satan---that they, the Mormons, are not really Christians. It's just a tad ironic, but it does play on the ignorance of most LDS, and non-LDS, about LDS history and teachings.
Their current modus operandi is to use the phrase "creedal Christians" and try to make the issue post-biblical. Here's the problem. The fundamental distinction between Christianity and Mormonism goes back to about 1400 BC, not 400 AD. Here is the foundational contrast:
Before the mountains were born,
Or Your brought forth the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting,
You are God. (Psalm 90:2)
...for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see.
Joseph Smith, 1844
Now, two quick things: 1) Psalm 90 is a song of Moses, hence the early date. 2) The King Follett Funeral Discourse is not LDS Scripture. But it is the most often cited sermon of Joseph Smith by the leaders of the LDS Church itself, and is one of two foundational sermons preached within the last months of his life.
Hence, the issue is stark and clear. Monotheism vs. polytheism, one transcendent Creator God vs. an exalted man from another planet. Just a reminder from Brigham Young as to how Smith's words were interpreted by those who heard him initially:
“Mankind are here because they are the offspring of parents who were first brought here from another earth, and were enabled to propagate their species, and they were commanded to multiply and replenish the earth. How many Gods there are, I do not know. But there never was a time when there were not Gods and worlds, and when men were not passing through the same ordeals that we are now passing through. That course has been from all eternity, and it is and will be to all eternity.”
Brigham Young, JD 7:333, August 28, 1859.
I’m not talking about what individual Christians might think
I’m talking about the U.S. government
I can say confidently that the U.S. government has no business recognizing the Christianity of literally every other religious sect that worships Jesus Christ—with one exception
Latter-day Saints are among the most patriotic, service-oriented individuals in our country. They are also unequivocally Christian—just look at who is in the name of the Church.
It is unacceptable for a government entity to characterize a faith in a manner that contradicts the religion’s own foundational tenets. I am working now to ensure a correction is made.

@RivianTrackr@DevinOlsenn@brian4591 Having owned a Tesla and 3 Rivian’s, UHF is much more like Enhanced Autopilot than FSD. I like it, but I hope we’re on the short path to FSD.
