Plus les grandes entreprises sont grandes, plus les petits commerçants et artisans, et leurs familles, dont les revenus baissent, votent pour l'extrême-droite. C'était déjà le cas avec Poujade dans les années 1950. Résumé d'une étude récente ici.

Market power's influence on politics through lobbying and regulatory capture is well-studied. But how do powerful firms influence citizens' political preferences? Our latest piece in @ProMarket_org, based on https://t.co/LDpur3a9f9 delves into this fascinating topic.
In new research, @tcrescioli & @ToonVanOverbeke find that small business owners and their families who have lost revenue share to rising market concentration among big businesses have turned to far-right political parties to express their grievances. https://t.co/60CBKlRn58
In a nutshell, our findings show:
1) Large mergers negatively impact the economic performance of European micro businesses.
2) Micro business owners and their families become more pessimistic about politics and democracy, increasingly voting for the far-right.

It was an amazing journey. An immense thanks to my supervisors who have always supported me and to my examiners for the insightful comments and suggestions.
Congratulazioni Dr @tcrescioli on successfully defending your PhD thesis!
As my first doctoral student I couldn’t have wished for a more brilliant supervisee.
How do voters react to technological risks in the labour market? And does insulation from such occupational risk shift that behaviour? Excited to share the publication of my latest paper, now out in Research and Politics. https://t.co/6fj884w3cc 1/8
🚨 Publication Alert 🚨
My first solo paper is now published. In this project, I show the importance of domestic reforms and institutions in enhancing the pro-competition effect of EU directives in liberalized industries.
