TD - Ensuring Quality in Construction. We are an independent UKAS accredited testing laboratory and we deliver our site testing services nationwide.

[TD Construction Testing @TDConstTesting]

TD is the UK’s leading materials testing laboratory for @UKAS accredited Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) testing of bitumen.

#1 🇬🇧

We achieved an industry first milestone by becoming the ONLY testing laboratory to hold UKAS accreditation for all 3 of these methods:

⚫️ Complex Shear Modulus and Phase Angle – BS EN 14770:2023

🟢 T(VET) & G*(VET) - CD227 (E/2) Design for Pavement Maintenance, Version 0.1.0 (September 2025)

⚫️ Multiple Stress Creep and Recovery Test (MSCRT) - BS EN 16659:2026

The results and information obtained from this testing can:

🟢 Support accurate maintenance planning and help determine the most appropriate intervention for aged surfacing

⚫️ Assess rutting resistance under varying load conditions

🟢 Support product development, R&D, or project‑specific investigations

This is a premium, industry-leading service that supports more accurate characterisation of bitumen performance, ultimately contributing to longer-lasting and more sustainable road infrastructure. It places TD at the forefront of UK materials testing, aligning with evolving standards and enabling clients to meet increasingly demanding performance specifications.

This week we were down at the NEC in Birmingham for Highways UK & Asphalt World UK.

It was great to view the wide range of exhibitions, and hear from the conference speakers, as well as catching up with old contacts and making new ones.

How do we do it?
We are an independent materials testing laboratory, @UKAS accredited to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

What is UKAS?
UKAS stands for the United Kingdom Accreditation Service. It is the sole national body recognised by the UK government to assess and accredit organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection, and calibration services. In short, UKAS is the organisation that "checks the checkers" to ensure they are competent and impartial.

Why it matters?
When a company gets certified or their products are tested, UKAS accreditation guarantees that the evaluation was performed to the highest globally accepted standards. Government policies and major industries often require UKAS-accredited evaluations to ensure compliance, maintain supply chain trust, and reduce commercial risk.
