The well armoured Soviet KV-1 heavy tank was a shock to the invading German forces in June 1941. It had one big drawback. It was more expensive to produce than the T-34, but had the same 76.2mm gun & worse mobility. Production ended in April 1943 & it was phased out soon after.
This Ferret is painted to represent a vehicle used by B Squadron 4 RTR during their tour of duty in Cyprus in 1983. The Regiment returned to the island in 1989 and 1991. UN vehicles are traditionally painted white to mark them out as belonging to the peacekeepers.
